For what I see, forum still provide help for new comer to find solution and workaround, some people here try to help to build/found brushes that matches CSP, some volunters generate csp shortcuts and documentation for krita, some developpers tries to make some development to fit some asked need, …

That’s not really “all” :slight_smile:

For my own, I mostly talk about my worries about future of Krita and all feature requests to make it something else than what developers want to build.
I don’t care if some development like clip-stuff are implemented as long as it doesn’t stop paid developers to work on more important things, and as long as it doesn’t change how Krita works (choice of new functionalities, not a CSP-PS clone, use open standard…)

I don’t judge other softwares, even proprietary, about their functionalities or quality (I don’t use it so it will be hard to judge them :sweat_smile:)
I don’t judge users coming from other places, myself I’ve used other software before Krita, and maybe one day I’ll found something that will fit better to my needs and start to look aside.

I just really take care about the software itself.

Most converted PS-CSP users are cool and just ask for help.
Some are less, more in mode “Krita must be like PS” or “Krita must be like CSP” or “if it don’t have it, Krita is nothing”, …

One time, 2 times, N times…
Like, you work in a bakery and every day you have guy asking you if you have cucumber pie because in the old one who have closed there was cucumber pies :slight_smile:

I think people from forum and that overreact to this situation are people who are the most active here and from a long time; that’s really a bit stressful.
Many new comer, many of them don’t take time to take a look about CoC and how the forum works…

I personally had to make a break this year because of the behavior of some new users that were not really concerned with forum rules or neither Krita itself; just concerned by their own needs.

I remember one time a user that was very aggressive because her husband lost hours of work using Krita and threatened to sue Krita and people here as responsible of lost work (and we never been able to determinate what really happened with the lost document as the only things we got was threat…)

I try now to stay a little behind from all that, but sometime I just can’t look and I have to talk about my thoughts, like today.
I try to stay polite and I try to not be aggressive.

But I can understand that according to their character and pressure, some people tell what they think without any filters :face_with_open_eyes_and_hand_over_mouth:

I say that it is good to implement some things that other software has, not so much because of the issue of copying, but because it is good to have the best of several worlds.

For example, the clipping mask seems to me to be a very good thing, together with inheriting alpha I think they could help users a lot.

In addition, the fact that there are more users means that eventually the financing will grow, it is what happened with Clip Studio, many users moved to the program, they realized that their user base grew and continued to grow, so they took the opportunity to implement their new model of Payments.

I understand all that @Grum999, and i was talking about the way some users talk, and i also understand that they are older users who dealt with this kind of thing way more.
But like yourself said, what Krita need is donating, and we can accomplish that just by embracing everyone we can and respecting everyone that appears by, even if they don’t seem to do it initially. Just by gathering more people we can push the project forward.

I also don’t like the “let’s do your own thing” the Krita community seems to think sometimes. CSP already invested a lot of resource on figuring out it’s tools, why not to look at that for ideas instead of trying to reinvent the wheel at every new feature? Innovation is great and Krita already did that a lot, but i think that we need some equal tools to bring users, the same way CSP did to bring PS users to it, because that’s what we need at the end, more people supporting.

Its why im linking development section and threads.
Not all of us here have use csp significantly to know the nuance of feature x. If such feature is really a need for those transitioning helping in giving insights about them and their nuance is highly beneficial of course there is people from another different software who would want that software style to be the one implemented.

Since there is already a new thread for CSP people to give feedback and this news about csp starting subscription has become old now. I think we can close this thread and direct all the feedback from the csp people to the new thread.

The new thread is made by @Liam_Smyth here - ClipStudioPaint Artists: What features does CSP have that you wish were in Krita?
It will be a better place to discuss CSP stuff. As for this thread, I think we all came to know about the subscription already and since it is not a Krita subscription, keeping this thread open for too long makes no sense even it is in lounge. Neither can we change the decisions made by Celsys to stop the subscription model nor can this forum be a place where they listen to their users.

Hope you all check out the thread and contribute to it in terms of feedback for Krita from a CSP users perspective.

All future post having feedback from a user coming from CSP will be merged in to the new thread so as to not spam this forum from the CSP posts.
