I’m really surprised it doesn’t already exist, so I’d like to feature request “Color Labeled Layers” sample option for Color Sampler Tool.
Both the Fill Tool and Similar Color Selection Tool already has this option.
Reason I find it important, is that if I’m working on an alternative layer to the actual base or layer from which I’d like to sample, I can’t select the actual color I want if there as been for instance other layers with shades, blends, highlights etc added on top of it. The Color Sampler tool would sample the visible color, not the actual color below the shades, blends, highlights etc.
Maybe there’s a way to do it that I’m not aware of … I’m so sure I saw it in a video, but maybe it was for PS or another program … just again surprised this tool doesn’t have this feature in it’s options.
If it’s not currently possible, maybe through some action or keyboard shortcut, could it be added?
Afaik PS doesn’t have it like that, but it does have “all layers below this” or “this and all layer below this” or something similar.
Also the reason this option is not there is because this option in every tool needs separate implementation (with just some common parts), and I had to go back to resource management. If anyone wants to implement it (or other sample options - I had more ideas…), I can help, but now I’m working on assistants…
I see … I personally know nothing about coding, so have no idea how “ewasy” or difficult it is to implement.
Would be really helpful to have this, so one can work on one layer while sampling color from another specific layer.
Thanks for all your work on this wonderful app!
Just for reference, for the first tool, it was an easy task so it took me around a month Later it was even easier since I could reuse code from the first tool I implemented.
Yes +1!, this would be immensely helpful. There are a lot of layers such as fog/atmosphere, light glows and anything transparent really, that could be color coded, and being able to avoid sampling those layers with the Color Sampler, it would make it much easier to work non-destructively and in a more organized way!
