The situation with 5.2 on Steam is interesting and confusing:
Why Krita in Steam shows 5.2.0?
Version 5.2.0 has not been formally released yet and is still having bug fixes applied.
It would be useful if you can download the Nightly Stable build for Windows from here:
https://binary-factory.kde.org/job/Krita_Stable_Windows_Build/lastSuccessfulBuild/artifact/krita-nightly-x64-5.2.0-82c662532b.zip
and try that. (I’m assuming that you use Windows.)
Extract the .zip file into a folder then run the krita.lnk file that will be in the extracted folder.
Then see if it has the same problem that you’ve seen on Steam.
An announcement will be made on this forum when 5.2.0 is formally released for general use. This is hoped to be in the very near future.
