Sorry - I’ve been very busy in personal life for the past months.

Is there still a problem in 5.2.2?

Sorry I just installed Pop Os.

Its hard to debug when its working perfectly on my end. I might re-check whats on git and whats on my copy, I didn’t encounter error on my PC.

@Michelist I cant seem to be able to open Krita in my Pop! OS vm. :sweat_smile:
Ill try if it errors on Linux Mint.

Edit: I did not get any errors.

@Michelist @xkaly

Would it be possible to remove your current copy of compact-brush-toggler. The error message seems to be referencing lines that have already been change as of v.1.4.

Here is the one from my current dev folder : CBT Download

No need to remove. Because of the errors it gave, it is currently not installed. I’ll install the one from your link above and report back in a few minutes.

@kaichi1342: No more errors, this seems to work!

Thank you!

@kaichi1342 OK Windows 11 and Krita 5.2.2 here, what am I missing to get this? I downloaded the CBT Download from the link in this present reply and am getting this message.

I unzipped it and put the content of the subfolder compactbrushtoggler into the subfolder pykrita in Krita’s resource-folder, and that can be found via ‘‘Settings’’ >> ‘‘Manage Resources…’’ >> ‘‘Open Resource Folder’’, while Krita is not running, then start Krita. It may be that you have to activate it before you can use it, to do so search it in ‘‘Settings’’ >> ‘‘Configure Krita’’ >> ‘‘Python Plugin Manager’’ and set the checkmark in front of it, confirm it with OK and restart Krita.

I downloaded one of the others before seeing this new one, so I know the location. Didn’t think of manually added to the location, will try that. Thanks

@Michelist that did it thanks

I have updated the git repo.

I suggest to remove the old installation and reimport it.

@kaichi1342 I tried both a earlier version and the latest with no luck by going through the “normal” procedure. @Michelist suggested installing manually and now no issues, works great. Thanks for this plugin and your time

thank you for that. Seems there might been an issue with how i structure my git. I will look into it.

I hope you are enjoying the plugin .

Its very handy, isn’t it?
Just being able to toggle , size pressure separate from opacity is amazing. I also like flow/no flow and that dunk/soak ink :joy: and wash/build up been really lovely when doing more painter stuff compare to my usual anime works.

I hope it one day become native. if not by me by other.

my only problem is, I don’t know what “Soak Ink” is for, as I haven’t found any brush I use need it. But once again thanks, I waste so much time either switching from my opacity/ size brushes to the no opacity/ size brushes or turning on/ off the rotation. So much more efficient and easy, glad to finally be able to add to my work as I am somewhat new here and didn’t realize this was available until yesterday.

“Soak Ink” - is only available for a very small as of now brushes, it work bristle engine brushes.
iirc it was requested to me and sumi brushes are things I like to use occasionally.

it gives this effect where if you take a very dry brush over a wet paint on canvas and drag it along.

It really gives that brush stroke effect in traditional painting.

It is a practical little helper that provides quick access to functions in certain situations that would otherwise be relatively cumbersome to change in the brush editor. If I can use my hand/my stylus again, it quickly could become indispensable.
