I think I have a new favourite brush. It was created by @CrazyCatBird. I’ll put a link at the end of this post so you can download the brush.
What surprised me the most about this brush is the size versatility. Usually, if a brush works well in huge sizes then it kind of poops out if you try to use it in a really small size. This one works well from 3 pixels right up to 500 pixels.
In this painting I did everything using just this one brush. The texture on the walls and floor are from using the brush in a large size and making continuous strokes. I changed the angle of the brush to suit each different section.
Another favourite thing is the mixing qualities. You can see it best in the pig’s tutu.
Sooz, I am doing a painting with your RGBA Mix brush. The results so far is looking good. I want to ask you, if I wan’t to change the brush tip, would that effect the look?
OK Sooz, I will give it a shot, I will finish my painting with your original. If I have any success with a new brush, I will pass it along here. Take care.
As well as the composition and the brushwork, I like the sense of movement and the bouncing necklace is a wonderful touch
It inspired me to write a short song verse in the style of a jig:
Oh you dance so fine and you’re such a pretty swine With your toes in the air I so want to make you mine Come away with me oh how happy we will be as we dance along the path of love.
I love the pearl. Really gives a sense of movement and maybe some sillyness.
I like how, as you pointed out, you used the brush texture for the carpet and blended colors on tutu.
shadows casted are well made.
@Sydney maybe try GMIC local processing (selecting RGBA all) I found it reduced the texture while still preserve the look. Incase you want less texture.
