Emulating squeegee technique

Could you please help me fimd or

develop a brush or technique to

emulate the squeegee look as

by Gerhard Richter?

Hi @ReneGraf

I had never heard of this artist so I looked at one of his pieces.

You might want to try any brush with “knife” in the name, especially those in the Memileo set. Memileo Impasto Brushes

By the way, I moved your post into the support category for brushes.

Thank you for your prompt reply. However, are you familiar with the squeegee or Rakel technique in general adding, pushing away, and mixing color all at the same time? In the meantime, I’ll check out the Memileo Impassto Brushes.

It sounds like what I used to do when I painted with acrylics - I often painted with old credit cards. It’s a much smaller scale but the same concept.

You’ll have to experiment with Krita as it doesn’t actually emulate real life paint in the way the colours move or mix. For instance, like most raster painting programs, Krita is based on the Red Green Blue colour wheel, not Red Blue Yellow. That means green is not created by mixing blue and yellow.
