Exported mp4 not readable

Few days ago I made this post: Rough animation just for fun
and someone said he wasn’t able to watch the mp4 in his browser when he could watch from others, so I redownloaded ffmpeg and thought it would solve the issue.
I’m used to send the mp4 on discord to download it back on my phone and share it to my socials, but the mp4 ffmpeg give me is just unreadable by my phone even my discord app can’t read it on itself and instead clicking on it will make the browser download the file. It read fine on computer of course and posting on a video hosting website doesn’t cause issue. Tried a lot of different things like trying to convert the Gif into mp4 but still not work
Would appreciate the help.
Thank you in advance.

This is the error Firefox gives for the file in the linked thread (found by right-clicking to Inspect):

Media resource https://krita-artists.org/uploads/default/original/3X/5/e/5e298c64c02451cfcf268374496f8899b4f1d359.mp4 could not be decoded, error: Error Code: NS_ERROR_DOM_MEDIA_FATAL_ERR (0x806e0005)
Details: mozilla::MediaResult __cdecl mozilla::WMFVideoMFTManager::ValidateVideoInfo(void): Can’t decode H.264 stream because its resolution is out of the maximum limitation

The video’s resolution is 4960x3508, which is rather large. Perhaps Firefox simply doesn’t want to play it for that reason.

So what are the max resolutions ?

I don’t know what @AhabGreybard is writing, but I’d say you’ll probably have to figure this out yourself via trial and error. But with FHD as a starting size, and then getting smaller, you probably have a good starting point.

It would have been less complicated and easier to understand if you’d continued in the original ‘rough animation’ topic instead of starting a new one.

Did you download and try the gyan ffmpeg?
Did you set the .mp4 options as I suggested and showed you on the screenshot?

4960 x 3508 is a very large image size and that can’t be displayed on most monitors.
I think 1920 x 1080 is a very common image size for many You Tube videos so maybe try that instead.

Hello @Michelist
