Finger interaction stops working on android

Type of device* : Tablet
Brand and version of the device: Samsung S9 FE 2023
System** : Android
Krita Version: 5.2.9
OS: Linux (aarch64) release 5.15.153-android13-3-29539737

Krita works fine for a certain while, but then suddenly I can’t use my fingers to do anything, no zoom, gestures, undo, etc. I can still interact with the app with the Spen but that’s it. To fix the issue temporarily, I have to turn off and on the tablet for it to work again.

That sounds like you have a selection somewhere on the canvas that has not been turned off. You can do Select > Deselect and see if that cleared it up.

I added the Deselect icon to my toolbar to save steps.

Thank you for your answer sooz, I doubt the issue is the selection tool since it also happens when I’m in canvas mode, so I don’t have access to the selection tool.

To clarify, I don’t and can’t draw with fingers since I have ‘Touch Painting’ disabled, I can only draw with the Spen. The issue is that while I’m drawing, suddenly I can’t use any of my finger gestures or zoom in or out, I can only use my Spen.

I don’t have an S pen so I can’t attempt to replicate this. I wonder if @CrazyCatBird would have any comments?

It just played with Krita on my tablet and everything worked ok, so I’m no help.

This is my tablet/Krita info:

Alright so I think I figured out, I found out that when you have the S Pen on the screen you can’t do any touch gestures, however… after certain point Krita bugs out and stills register the S Pen even when it’s not being used. I tested Infinite Painter to see if the issue would occur, but after 15 minutes it still works just fine. Tested Krita again just to make sure and the issue occurs within a minute and a half. ¿What do I do?
