Frame by Frame is a four panel comic series I am creating together with a friend, Marc Weidenbaum, who also runs the sound and ambient-music blog disquiet.com.
Right now, I create them completely in Krita, with only the type part being done in Affinity Designer. For some of these I had drawn the inks by hand, and only did the colouring in Krita, but lately I’ve switched to going everything digitally.
A big thank you to @RamonM for his wonderful Ink brushes: INK brushes for INKTOBER 2023. Feedback.and final release, 90% of the drawings are done using those.
We started this project years ago during the lockdowns (as can be seen from some of the earlier ones), and picked up making these after a longer hiatus.
The mood of these is more poetic than narrative, with a loose focus on sound-related themes. There’s some interconnectedness, which might not be apparent, but will hopefully become more evident as we make more.
