It would be a good idea to put tags to be able to filter the types of resources.

fully on broad with this 100% it just nice to have example image with the brush type
accepting animated gifs would be kinda dope for the showcase area.
Hey! i see very good ideas here.
@wojtryb i like the hovering idea. But i have a doubt about long width images, Will they be web responsive ? MAybe people want to see a rough view of everything and then go deeper selecting one.
@EyeOdin I donāt understand your issue. I am not thinking in something like git for this. just simply Give a link with everything to be downloaded, and then Krita team will upfdate the content. If there is another solution, i listen.
@Deevad i agree with you about license. I thought maybe description would be a nice place but now i see better @SchrodingerCat idea.
@SchrodingerCat I like the link icon for sharing. +1 . Tags maybe will complicate the task for @scottyp ? I donāt knoow but if we gather a lot of resources then it would be useful so yes for me.
Only one thing, this is like one single page for each bundle. I was thinking a more simple idea to present things.
One question, do you prefere a grid style for the page. Then we click on a resource and a page like @SchrodingerCat shows? or something like @wojtryb propose? i think we need to look for the better ideas no matter who is the brain behind. do you agree with that idea?
I like this thread, we are getting a lot of interesting ideas. Thanks everybody.
Well I canāt do merge requests for krita nor for the manual for reasons unknown and I think is because of my operating system even if I am on dual boot. Git just does not work with me. The biggest reason for me to have never done anything inside Krita itself.
Making a downloadable link is doable though.
I am not in charge of the manual. Maybe @wolthera could help with this. Your work is really appreciated. I donāt know which is your OS. i donāt think using git is useful for this. Also i donāt think allow the user to upload any type of material would be good. Maybe the team has to filter to avoid to simple things? Do you think is reasonable? If we want to show a more professional look i think is important
I donāt want to take this too far off topic but if I may one or two notes.
Iām doubltful how much this will help on its own with the resource discovery.
I think Krita needs two things to get this actually going:
(most beneficial would be some form built-in asset store but I understand thatās a long stretch.)
To sum it up, some recognizable big label/button on the front page and one in Kritaās menu which takes you to this page you discuss here at the least.
I know someone said krita page is superb resource about krita but itās convoluted, not simple to navigate and/or understand so the click through krita directly to the resource page would make miles in this case.
I agree with that. We need a button in the main page and i think that is clear. The rest of your note is what we are talking about here, how to improve the resource management and discovering for new users
We used to have something like that, share.krita.org and integration in the application itself through GHNS (Get Hot New Stuff) ā a KDE framework. However, we couldnāt manage share.krita.org because weāre too small and busy a team and because of the way that site was set up by the owners. So it became a huge spam magnet.
I really want to have a dynamic marketplace site where people can actually sell their resources, with integration with the new front page Sharaf is creating at the moment.
But thatās not going to happen overnight.
And by the way, where is @pesi, @Quiralta, @Rytelier, Cazorla, Radian, Razvan, Saejer Ryman(Mojo) and many others Brush creators⦠I would like to see you here comenting what do you think about all this thread
This is my Creators page in my HD, so YES, there are a lot of content.
People use all sorts of versions of Krita, so it would probably be in place to describe what Krita-versions the resource works for. That will likely help many users and will make it easy to see what resources are old.
What about something like this? adding @wojtryb hovering idea and @SchrodingerCat tags, share, more ideas. I am copying without shame Do you prefer arrows to show the images or round shapes ? this remember other platforms.
Maybe we are complicating this too much? i donāt know if this takes too much time for web manteiner @scottyp
Also about social media, i listen what do you prefer
Wow, I like the lower one!
Michelist
Here i am testing how this will fit with more visual content. Do you like it?
I enabled the thumbnails on that page now.
I agree with @halla that all these resources will probably be some type of separate site than krita.org or docs.krita.org. I also believe long term this is closer to like a store front like Halla mentions. Many things will be free, but will also have potential options to purchase things.
I think having whatever we do integrate with the Krita application will also be important like on the welcome screen. Being able to search for resources and brushes directly in the application instead of having to know to go to a website to see that stuff.
That means you have enough feedback of what the users would find useful and that we have to wait until the web migration is done ? By the way thanks a lot for all the work done.
Do you think we can close this thread? Or do you like or find useful more ideas ? Just let us know.
Can you make a capture? I canāt see how that change the look, please
