How to record krita's subwindows without recording everything else? (OBS)

I’m trying to record some speedpaints but since using filters, brush editor, g’mic and etc is a big part of my workflow I’d like them to show on the video, however the only way I’ve found to record them is by recording the whole screen in OBS. Is there any way around this? Apologies if something like this has already been asked before.

Hi !
There is a workaround shared by @tiar
Here’s the link : Image recording Procreate style (no zoom/rotate!) - but better (shows strokes during making them)!

It works pretty well, although I find it a bit tedious to set up.
But that’s because I’m a very unorganized person… :upside_down_face:

For the Procreate-like video, there will be a Recorder docker in the next Krita. But I think @F035 wants to see the brush editor etc. visible, and I don’t think the workaround I shared is good for that.

Yeah… I don’t have a problem with the zooming in/rotating, it’s just that filters appear in a new window that can’t be captured simultaneously with the main one, so some of the effects I use just pop into existence as far as the viewer is concerned :^(

oops! sorry, I misread your request…

As a matter of interest, why don’t you want to record the whole screen, or maybe part of it?

Mainly because sensitive information could be shown, since i tend to switch between browsing and drawing often. Also the theme I’m using is dark, so some of the webpages with light themes could cause some very bad flashes when sped up, stuff like that. Mostly privacy, though.
