I wanted to write here a word or two about what I saw and think would be an + to the functionality of the program.
First I manly use the program to edit text based artwork, and a library of symbols (eg. ““ * equation symbols, more fonts at our disposal), more compatibile with word based editor programs.
If this happens only to me, please help me fix this issue.
Thx for listening to my cause and hope to hear from you soon!
Overall a great product you got here and the fact that it’s free is even more appealing to me!
I removed your comment from the thread where you posted it as it would have taken the original post off topic (OP was asking about Krita Android features).
Please let me know if the title is ok. I wasn’t sure that I understood what you’re looking for.
I think it wasn’t clear to what I want and what I think, for me it would be an “+“ in the application.
So I would like, if you can implement a toolbox with symbols for the text editor window, mathematical symbols, braces, overall a better compatibility for the import of symbols from Word based editors.
If trere are scrips that resolve this issue of mine, please let me know, I still want to learn a lot of how to use the app to the fullest.
You can get additional fonts by installing them to your operating system, so macOS, Linux, Windows or Haiku, with Android this is currently impossible, additional fonts installed to Android are not accessible right now.
For my understanding, you can use each and every symbol your fonts offer, but Krita is not a word processor but a painting program, so, although Krita’s text tool is currently rewritten and modernized, it can be that you will miss some functions a word processor will have.
But you can prewrite your texts in a word processor and import them into Krita, so far I can’t remember that Krita suppressed any special character I ever used.
One thing you have to obey, is, that the current versions of Krita, from 5.2.0 to the recent 5.2.11 can not handle all fonts. You can work around this by using older versions or one of the recent Krita 5.3.x Nightly versions, which then will offer all the bits from the rewritten text tool that are already implemented, so you already can profit from them.
If you are interested in the features of the new text tool, you will find the topic where this is discussed here: Text Tool Thread
