I can not drag a duplicate picture to the second monitor

Hello everyone!
help,
I can not drag a duplicate picture to the second monitor to see the general changes about, when dragging nothing happens and the window with the duplicate jumps ,
maybe you will say you need to change the settings to switch from tabs to windows I did so, but in this mode the problem described by me occurs…
I will be very grateful for help!

There might be something in this thread that helps:

No, I want to clarify.
through this menu, I usually use this function in Photoshop…
after that I can’t drag the created duplicate to the second monitor, in krita v.5.2

So you are testing the 5.2 beta and you’re reporting this as a problem? If so, we need to move your comment into the 5.2 beta testing thread.

do you still think this problem is related to this in the old versions this problem is not present if it is so, I’d better try to switch to the old versions as I have to finish the work…
?

5.1.5 is the most recent stable version. 5.2 was released for beta testing only. If you have important work to do you should not be using an unstable, pre-release for it. Just my opinion.

Okay, I’ll try 5.1.5.
I’ll let you know if the problem persists

You can’t drag document tabs or subwindows out of their main window.

If you do New Window then drag the new window to the second monitor, in that new window you can do Window → New View then you’ll get a list of currently open documents and can select one for opening in the new window.

Also, if you want to see ‘general changes’ and have an overview of the entire image, you can use the Overview docker and drag it to a second monitor as a resizable floating docker that has zoom and pan capability: Settings → Dockers → enable Overview.

can you write down the procedure?
here is my procedure

  1. I click window-new view-my doc
  2. I drag this window to the second monitor
    3 I can’t do it.
    ?

I don’t understand where it’s going wrong for you.
Do you have ‘my doc.kra’ in the list under New View?

Try dragging the new window to the second monitor before you do New View.

I did the same thing you wrote, it doesn’t work.

Did you get as far as having an empty new window on your second monitor?

As a separate but parallel subject, have you tried using the Overview docker?

Overview docker is dragging and dropping and working, but
the document window is not dragged outside the main program window

Do you mean the Overview docker is not dragged outside the main window?
Or, do you mean something else?

I accidentally clicked on a new window, and dragged it and it seemed to work before I tried this menu.

I suggest that you save/close all open documents then Quit, then restart krita and open just one document then take it from there.

Having done that, do you have a krita application window occupying the whole screen of one monitor and does it have ‘my doc.kra’ opened and displayed on the canvas?

But why doesn’t the standard drag-and-drop document method work?
without duplicating the whole program window?

A developer would be able to tell you the reasons for that and it involves words like ‘modal’ and ‘child window’. All I know is that you can’t drag tabs or subwindows to another window.
