Ink brush reccomendations?

Sorry if this is in the wrong category. I’ve browsed the forums here, but I’ve never posted myself.

I like thicker, messier lines when I ink, but I’m finding all the default and popular brushes either don’t look good with messy line art, or look much better with thinner lines. Does anybody have brushes that might suit my style? Or maybe advice on how to modify the brushes I already have to look how I want?

I’ve done plenty of digital sketching, but line work I don’t have much experience with, so I’m still figuring out what I’m doing

can you post examples of what your style is, or what kind of brush look you are aiming for?

what do you mean by messier line art?

This is the sketch of the piece I’m working on at the moment

and this is what I got through of the line art before got sick of it

It looks fine, objectively, but it’s just not my style. It needs more texture, I guess? I tried doing the overlapping, sketchier lines I would do with pen or pencil on paper, but it just didn’t look good with that brush.

I like the look of Val’s realistic ink pen (left), but it just doesn’t look right scaled up to the thickness I want. The default brush I’ve been using is on the right.

There are some rough brushes in the pack you might like:

I actually stumbled across one that’s perfect right after my last reply

Bristle Brushes by Enjerune!

I will definitely check out some of those, though, thank you!

Have you tried the Ink-4 Pen Rough??

I did try that one, and all the default ink brushes, but the texture just didn’t look right when I turned the brush size up
