The task for today was a simple one. Just draw a toad from reference.
It turned out to be much more difficult than I expected I ended up “cheating” and painting values under the cross-hatching. I never drew a realistic frog before, so I traced the silhouette as a starting point, too. Otherwise I probably would have been off model by a mile (and spent another hour in addition to the three it took as is).
Initially I had lines within the form, but it looks much better if the edges are implied with just the shapes.
I’m not too happy with today’s entry. It took a very long time and the result is, meh. I ran out of time to polish it, having spent too much time on the character and figuring out the shot. I wanted to see if having a very wide vertical shot would work, but everything was too small… Frustratingly, I’m not super confident about the pose either. Like something, is just a tiny bit off. Oh well. Props for the effort, I guess
I wanted to draw Lumine jumping on the bouncy mushrooms because she’s so precious
Haa… Not sure if it’s the fatigue setting in, but I struggled so hard to get this one out. Once I got the rough down, after a few unsuccessful attempts at drawing the face, I finally got it (more or less…) and then rushed like crazy to finish the inking. That’s why it’s rather sloppy.
This time it’s Kuki Shinobu the Shrine Maiden (For a Day) telling you your fortune…

It was a fun challenge, took me a lot of time, too (uh, 4 hours). That’s as far as I managed to push it… On one hand Inktober is fun, but on the other, sometimes I wish I had more time to stop and really think how to get something drawn properly I kind of wish to revisit this in the future with color. Could be nice!
For today I have a Honkai Star Rail drawing that fits the prompt perfectly (if you’re playing with EN voice over)
If you’re familiar with the character, my version is very simplified and not too accurate. I didn’t add her big ribbons/capes because it would make it less readable (I think). I liked this drawing quite a bit. It was supposed to be faster, but it wasn’t
Hello. The challenge today was to draw children, something I don’t do too often (at all?). Ahh, there are so many things I yet need to learn to draw properly This will never end.
It took me 3 hours this time. It’s definitely not accurate at all, I just wanted to get the atmosphere across The sitting poses were tricky.
I don’t know what this is fanart of, but it strangely reminded me of a World of Warcraft character in a fancomic. To me, it reminds me of ‘old times’ playing games all day with friends. Maybe playing as ‘edgy’ characters because it’s ‘cool’. But maybe the skeleton just can’t return to old times due to being undead. Anyway, it’s pretty cool-looking.
Yes, it’s a World of Warcraft rogue character Not a specific one, it should just be a vaguely familiar rogue look from the time of the original game or Classic WoW.
I myself started playing not too long before the release of the first expansion and stuck around for a good several years, but my best memories are definitely from these first years with the game. It really had an unparalleled world to explore for the first time.
Thank you… I guess I managed to capture the feeling, but the execution, eh, it really was a struggle. Inktober is an intensive period of “output” and there’s not much time for “input” and study. I’ll have to catch up on that next month.
