Interface issues when using the stylus on an Android tablet Huawei

I recently encountered a minor issue on my new Huawei MatePad 11.5 TXZ-W09 tablet when using the stylus in Krita. Interrupting windows with layer properties, toolbars, and other command prompts keep popping up when opening or closing files. I’ve looked through all the articles, and most suggest it could be related to the stylus being treated as a right-click, but after disabling this touch action in the app, nothing changed, nor after fiddling around with the stylus settings.

I also saw that it could be related to a conflict between the app and the tablet itself, but I have no idea how to fix it, as I’ve never had this problem on any device before.

(The site doesn’t allow me to upload a video of the problem because I just registered, so I don’t know if the problem is clear enough in the text description, plus I’m not a native speaker, I hope the translator didn’t let me down..

And now, to add to this problem, I can’t open the image at all, and Krita just freezes on the main screen without any options. I don’t really understand what to do with this yet either. I’ve been working in Crete for over three years now and this is the first time I’ve encountered this…)

Hello @Dar and welcome to the forum

You can give a link to a file download service (please make sure that login or registration is not required) or you can give a link to a YouTube/Vimeo video.

I don’t know about krita on Android but other people here will be able to help.

 Hello @Dar, and welcome to the forum!

Sorry, but I have to admit that I don’t have an idea to help you with this issue, although I have an idea where its cause could or will lie.
I suspect this is caused by the Android add-on Harmony OS, so the OS-Extension upon the underlying Android, something I just recently wrote in another topic where strange behavior was reported.

And so, without having any idea or seeing any way to solve the problem you described, I can give you the link to the post I mentioned, whose statement is even reinforced by the technically skilled creator of the topic, but otherwise I have to leave you without any ideas and hope that someone who knows the answer will see this topic. Unfortunately, without actually having any hope that this will happen.

The only hope I see here is that @Drawpile, our Android developer, might recognize something here that I overlooked. And so you’ll have to wait and see when he finds the opportunity to address your problem during the current holiday season, without promising that he can solve it; it’s just a last resort. The way his name is mentioned, preceded by the @ sign, will inform him, so you don’t need to contact him separately.
In any case, I am increasingly frustrated by this type of innovation, which is solely and exclusively designed to generate more revenue but does not really benefit the user community.
