Introduce yourself! šŸŽ™ļø

I’ll also hope on to this, I’m not going to disclose my real name (I don’t want to deal with potential issues in the future about disclosing my real name). Been drawing for years starting in middle school (I still have my drawing from middle school) and was given a digital tablet last year for christmas, where I first downloaded and used Krita. I don’t have a specific selection of mediums I use for traditional (most of it is Graphite, Ink and Colored Pencils, although I want to try watercolors as well) all the time, I just use what medium I want to use.
Some of the people I watch are Jazza, Superraedrizzle, Chloeroseart and Jono Dry. Although other interest I have include games, old cartoons (from the 1900s like Popeye, Betty Boop and the original Tim and Jerry), and food (Im not no Gordon Ramsay level chef but I know how not to serve a side of food poisoning and Botulism).
Reguarding where I get my creativity from, most of it is from my mom and her family. My Papa collects hotwheels, my uncle collects nutcrackers, my aunt also does baking for events and my mom does sewing currently, although when she lived in Hawaii, she did drawings for the state’s art contest (she won twice in that).
I also am a subscriber to Sketchbox (the premium boxes) since September 2019, so If you would like to look in to Sketchbox for yourself or someone you know, feel free to let me know, I can send pictures (I think, let me know if this is not possible) of the stuff inside the boxes I currently have. I keep the supplies in their respective monthly box and keep them in order from oldest to newest.

I’m Matt, Mako_Matt for art and drawing. I’m french, i was a software developer for 15 years but i’m trying to became a full time artist/designer, i wish i could be an illustrator and live from that passion.
I’ve started using krita since 2015 after trying photoshop, i fell in love with this open source software. I try to help in testing and helping people here or in others forums and facebook…
I like to draw characters/animals and imagining concept art, but sometimes i make landscape…
I’m thinking of making stream and videos while using krita, maybe i’ll find the courage to do it sometimes

Hi

I don’t like this kind of exercise so I won’t tell interesting things

I’m Grum999, sometime grumpy, sometime not when I’m not grumpy.
I try to help on forum while remaining zen and it’s not easy every day but I do my best

When I draw, I mostly draw sausages things and also my OC Buli.

I also have a cute cat (note: all cats are cute in fact :hugs: :heart_eyes_cat: :heart_eyes_cat:)

:heart_eyes_cat: Wow the cute cat! :heart_eyes_cat:

As I mostly draw slumped on the couch, it’s not easy because cat comes to settle on my legs to sleep and then, most of time I can’t draw anymore :frowning:

:upside_down_face: Drawing session on the couch with my cat settle on my legs :smile_cat:

And when I have time, I code some plugins.

I’ve been around on the forums a bit, so some might’ve seen me. I go by the pseudonym Tapati and I started off in Paint.Net back in 6th grade so I could make sprites when I was tinkering with GameMaker at the time. Everything I do is for hobby and that fact’s never changed. I moved to Krita only around the end of a 2-year college degree in computer science, because my buddy said tablets exist and they’re better than using a mouse (and can you believe it, that was the first I heard about drawing tablets!)
Now I’m 4 years into using tablets.

Interesting tidbits: I love mineral collecting, caving, and the outdoors in general. I like to write tiny choose-your-own-adventure stories too. My programming is both a job and hobby and I’m the author of a prominent paint.net plugin – hopefully will end up contributing something on Krita as well. I listen to a lot of genres of rock including some super mellow 70s stuff to keep me vibin’

Hi I am a pretty private person but I’ve been doing digital art since 2004 after I completed an Archaeology degree which went fine but it was during Foot and Mouth crisis so missed out on the practical field work part and became disillusioned with it. Did freelance web design (self taught) and min wage admin jobs for several years. Got discouraged with my art several times but I did a course at a local college in 2014 after a really nasty job interview inspired me to prioritize what I really wanted to do with my life rather than try to please others all the time. The art course really helped me get back on track. Write a blog called The Art Squirrel to document my progress.

HI everyone!
So nice to be in such a friendly and encouraging group of artists! I’m Sonia, a super introvert ( but weird extrovert when around those I trust ) I’m originally from India and through a series of jumps into several countries, I landed in the US. My mom says I started drawing when I was in her womb, and scribbled all over the walls… ( there’s who my weird humor is from, originally!) I love painting with oils, but with space restrictions in my living conditions throughout my life, it did not happen often, so in 2015 I discovered Krita and David Revoy’s amazing videos and my mind was blown at how easily I connected with it! I had used Photoshop before that, from the time it became popular, but never for painting. Krita is like home for me, when making art. Im so comfortable with it but still I don’t know all the tricks it can do! Anyway, I stopped making art regularly in this past 2 years, because…life… and I would like to get back into it again. I’m super glad to be amongst such inspiring artists!

Hi @RPictures

Cute cat :heart_eyes_cat:

But the goal of this topic is to introduce yourself: then it would be preferable to update your post [RPicture] to add a picture of your lovely cat with few words, instead of a dedicated post in topic

Otherwise another solution could be a dedicated topic in #lounge to let users here to present their cat (or dog, or any pet they have).
Even if #lounge category is not opened to any subject, I think this could be Ok as it’s a way for Krita users to talk about personal things.

Hi,My name is Arijit .
As far, I can remember I had decided to become a comics creator when I was 6 years old  !
I guess I was lucky enough to follow that path and I had been following that path for last 30 years !

I am a freelance comics creator/artist and mainly work with publishers based in India.
In the meantime, when I manage to get some extra time, I spend time creating digital art or my personal comics contents.

From 2010 onwards, I have started to take digital working systems seriously and was experimenting with every kind of softwares I can find.
My future goal is keep learning more and of course, keep creating more comics  !

It is always nice to see comic creators from India. I have one more friend who used to work in comics and uses Krita after I introduced him to it. You may know him too. Also I need to check my library ( I am not at home right now) but I remember having some of the comic issues which have your work. Also Shubh Deepavali :diya_lamp: :sparkler:

If you can provide his name, then I can say if I know him or not :grinning: !
Actually I liked your colouring a lot in a ACK project and I had requested the editors to provide my artworks to you if possible.
But at that time, somehow it didn’t happened and probably you made a mock colouring for a cover made by me (for the same project in 2014 ) and I liked that !
Here is that mock cover

but In the end ,the whole cover design got changed !
By the way,Shubh Deepavali to you too !

Aah yes I remember this it had some figures too. I’ll check my hdd archive when I get back home. This was done in krita. The last time some months back I think I got a call to colour your artworks, they were done is awesome pencil shading style if I remember correctly. I was insanely busy with existing project I couldn’t take it up. May be next time if possible we can collaborate.

The name of my friend is Ghanshyam. Although he left the job now. I don’t know if others in the studio use krita or not.

P. S we can continue our conversation in private message

Hello,my name is Irhas and I am Indonesian so,Google translate is my best friend because since graduate from high school in 2017 I still can’t speak english.I can read and understand but it is so hard to tell what I want and explain about my thought,my drawing and other things.until now I’m still learning to be good at speaking English.
And start to tell my journey…
I love drawing since childhood (like others),tool I used is chalk and not using black board but the whole house (walls, table, door, etc).Drawing anything and then in elementary school all of my textboks is dirty full of drawing with pencil and pen. Many times my teacher got angry at me telling me to stop filling my books with drawing and doodling, but I never stop doing until high school.I rarely studied art during school.I didn’t go to college because I don’t have money.I’ve only been taught a few times about the art of Arabic calligraphy no painting or drawing just calligraphy.
I am enjoy it until I job at printing factory, work at screen printing division. And learn a lot from designers who work in there. Then they recomended me to bought laptop and pen tablet to practice at home,so in 2018 I bought my first pen tablet ( Huion H430P) and Asus laptop then install free software like Blender,Medibang,Krita,Incscape, etc.Because this is my first laptop I didn’t focus only on drawing, but also gaming editing and practice other stuff.Continued until I was finally able to buy a low end PC and bigger pen tablet (XP Pen Star 03 v2),my income just from my job as employee.
Then… Ka-boom…Covid happen,I resigned because my work contract had expired in February 2020,I can’t find another job because lockdown and what I can do is self-taught,practicing a lot with all I have, focus on using free resource, open source software, free course, etc(until now).
Recently I’ve watching a lot of youtube videos and found Krita channel and David Revoy in recomendation videos,I’m grateful to be in a place where great and experienced people share everything about Krita, I hope I can learn a lot here.
 :smiley_cat:
I love cats too,I have 6 cats at home they are cute and fluffy.
