Hiya, I’m Azure! Nice to meet y’all! I love to draw and paint. I love experimenting with my art, studying, music, reading, cooking and cleaning. I draw a lot of fantasy, BL, Yuri, Furry stuff, and anime. I also love Castlevania and gothic stuff. As well as cute and fluffy stuff. I love color, but black and white is pretty awesome too.

Drawing and painting has really helped with my mental health and mindset. It’s like therapy to me and very soothing to just take out my tools, put on my favorite music and relax. I feel that I’m in my own world when I’m working on my art, and I really love that feeling. It’s very rewarding.

I also love gaming, and I have a ton of inspirations, but I really love artists like, Julietta Suzuki ,Yoshida Akihiko, Tatana Kana, Rebecca Sugar, Vincent Van Gogh and many more.

Krita is nowadays my favorite art program, but also it’s my main art program. I’ve been on the Krita forum for a couple of months now and I’m enjoying my stay here. It’s very relaxing here, but also a good way to learn about stuff.

Someday, I’ll love to share some resources and brushes when I get around to it. I’m currently learning more about my art and someday I want to be a professional so I’ve been working on honing my skills.

That being said, I really love this forum and I’m happy to be here! :heartpulse:

Hi I joined a few days ago and just found this topic. Nice virtually meet all of you. I’m a retired granny and I have always enjoyed sketching so now I have time to sit down and draw. I thought I would try digital drawing, it took me a while to get use to the disconnect of the traditional pencil to paper ; tablet to screen. I have been using krita for about a year now and I am still learning how to use it effectively and efficiently… I am always open to suggestions and critiques on my future posts and of course hints and help with using krita.

Cheers

 Hello @ArtInprogress!
And even if I’m late, welcome to the forum!

A retired Granny? That is a question for quiz-shows! How can a granny lose her state as granny, so she is re-enabled to be a granny again?
I really beg it is not a hidden tragedy behind your statement!

Hello there. I’m Keith.
I’ve been an artist as a hobby forever (just turned 50) and just discovered Krita recently. I work in the printing industry so have always had access to things like Adobe for my job but want to start doing more of my own work in my free time. Looking forward to learning a lot in these forums because what I have seen so far is amazing!

Oh I see you caught me in the use of granny grammar. LOL I see that my mind was moving too fast in comparison to my thumbs. Nope thank god, I am still and Granny and still retired.

Hello there, fellow Krita artists!
My name is Dasha W. Frost, but my friends and myself often just call me Frosty, for short. I’ve been around for quite a while on DeviantArt, since I was a teenager, so maybe some of you might even recognize my name and some of my older artworks, heheh.

I’ve been using Krita for a few years. Previously I used a standalone old version of Photoshop, but I was not fond of Adobe switching to subscriptions only, so I was looking for free and open-source alternatives. Then my husband came across Krita and recommended it to me… And after that I’ve been using it alongside with Inkscape all the time. And I don’t regret one bit! Photoshop is now in my past for me, haha!

It’s been quite a long path for me, but in the last few years I’ve been working on my first graphic novel that is already almost half done. This is actually the reason I decided to sign up on the forum… to share progress with it, get feedback, and perhaps learn a thing or two from the other artists. And actually, I should’ve registered long ago. I’ve made a lot of artworks in Krita already, so why didn’t I even share them?! I guess because I’m reclusive

Other interests of mine are videogames, birdwatching, healthy cooking, cartoons and animation in general, literature, music, psychology, and maybe there’s something else that I misremembered.
Although, considering I work on my graphic novel right now almost 24/7, I don’t often have time for any of those other activities.

Nice to meet you all! Looking forward to fruitful communication and inspirations! :rose: Thank you!

Hi,

My name is G. I have been drawing since my middle school years (an argument can be made that I have been making art for longer). I was somewhat spurred by my elder brother to pick it up and dive into character design and illustration.

As of today, I am currently studying Computer Science in hopes of making games for fun. I am dabbling with various practices and software to develop my skills to accomplish my goal of developing a game.

As for my tools, I have been using Krita ever since I started drawing digitally and I enjoy learning how to use the various shortcuts and tools to help speed up and enhance my artwork.

I’ve been around for quite some time but just found the thread, so I guess I’ll say something. The name’s Sean. I like drawing and programming.

I hopped from Photoshop to Krita and from Illustrator to Affinity Designer a while back. I feel right at home with Krita especially with the Python scripting, the alpha inheritance system (PS clipping masks always seemed awkward to use), and the perspective/vanishing point tools. I make a motion comic in Ren’Py, and the wraparound tool is exactly what I needed to make seamlessly tileable PNGs. I would love to have Krita as my sole desktop raster drawing program, but CSP is still ahead when it comes to inking (unless someone made comparable pen brushes.

Of course, I’m also into movies (the good ones and the best bad ones), animation, actual comic books, and games!

Better late than never I guess?

My name is Arjen, I was born in 1978 and am from the Netherlands.
It’s a bit more complicated than that, but making art and music are my main occupations.

I actually do a lot of things, I draw, paint, animate, rap (sometimes sing), and play a number of musical instruments.
I’m also a cactus collector with a specialization in the Bolivian Andes.

I work digitally in Krita, and sometimes in Rebelle 5 (but mostly for canvas textures and nanopixel export, check that out, it’s brilliant!).
I also work traditionally in inks, watercolor and gouache.
I’m part of a collective called the Living Museum Vught, we are all artists hanging out and working in the same space and sometimes together.
I try to connect my music and art as much as possible, and a lot of it ends up in animation for music videos.

The reason I do all this, is that I can’t help but express myself.
I have been drawing and making music since a very young age and once an idea pops in my mind I need to work it out.
The medium is completely secondary to that.

Check out my work here

Um… hello everyone! My name is Hyung-won, and I am just a freshman in high school. :no_mouth:
I come from a very beautiful place in China. As for why did I meet Krita? This is just a coincidence - I love drawing (although I rarely draw serious things…) and enjoy doodling, cartoons, and so on. By chance, I discovered that many people have high evaluations of Krita (it’s true ), so I started creating on my computer! (I used to draw by hand… I haven’t adapted to it for a while. :hugs:) Please take care of me~ I really hope to learn knowledge from everyone!

Well, hi everyone. Somebody already knows me here. I love vector graphics and drawing animations. As I already know Krita I do this stuff there. But sometimes think about trying another software too. I guess creating 3D animations is exciting too, especially when you do it for some of your projects, and not just without any goal. So as a challenge, I may try Blender any time soon.

Hello everyone, I have always had a passion for creating art. I started using the standard forms of mediums for creation (Pencil, Paper, Paint, Canvas, etc.) a few years ago I started to use digital means of creation (Inkscape, GIMP, Krita, etc.) I have a few pieces created in Krita that I hopefully be able to share on here for possible critiques. I am pleased to be here in the presence of such talented people.
