I’ve tried setting it up in Setting → Configure Krita → Keyboard Shortcuts:
But the ones in there don’t function in the multibrush tool it only functions general painting.
I’m using 4.4.1 on Windows 10

Hello and welcome to the forum
The Multibrush tool has its own smoothing options that are identical in operation to the Freehand brush and have independent values.
Sadly, the smoothing settings shortcuts and the Toolbar icons for brush smoothing don’t work on the Multibrush tool. It would be useful if they did.
This may need a Wishlist bug report at https://bugs.kde.org/ but I suggest that you wait a while for some developer comment about this.
I also suggest that you update to version 4.4.2 which was released a short time ago.
Thanks for welcoming me. That’s a shame as I use the multibrush constantly. I filed the bug report. Hopefully it achieves something.
Do you know if KDE has a bug bounty system for this sort of thing? I’d be willing to support such a solution. I really like Krita, I will continue using it regardless.
It’s a good idea to wait for more comment about this sort of wish item and always good to give a link to any bug report you raise:
After three years of reporting bugs, I’m still waiting for my T-shirt but it hasn’t arrived yet. I’ll have to assume there is no bounty system.
Thanks for the advice. I agree with the comment you added.
I’d I was unclear I meant myself paying to have a bug/wishlist item done. Nevermind probably a silly idea anyway I’ll just donate.
Mail me you t-shirt size and shipping address ![]()
This wish is really small, so I’ll add it to my list here: Beginner coding tasks in Krita: easy and short feature requests, ready to implement - this is a link that I always give people who want to start contributing to Krita, so there is a high chance it will be picked
(especially since recently one contributor just picks one item after the other and I was just the other day joking I will have to make a whole new list soon
)
Paying for a wishlist item to be done is something that Krita does, but quite rarely, and the costs are always way more than the person asking (if it’s a private person, not a company or something) expected and sometimes that they can afford. But in case like this one, it’s probably not even worth it since it’s a small task while it would require a contract and other formalities.
A whole system that would make this easier sounds like a good idea at first but I don’t think it would work out well. It wouldn’t be a donation, so Krita would have to pay taxes from it. It could skew the priorities in the direction of people wanting to pay and being able to afford that (and having credit cards that are accepted, etc.) - that harms inclusivity and it also harms the long-term plans of Krita. Krita once upon a time organized Kickstarters with goals selected by donors, and it was good, but then the whole work went to features and Krita was getting more and more unstable (that’s called “technical debt” - in this case, when you work on new things instead of making sure the things you’ve already done are finished properly).
Thanks for such a detailed and thorough reply. Krita is something I use everyday and is often the only program I use for most of my digital art. It’s an amazing program. Fingers crossed it gets picked would be really convenient for the type of stuff I do.

Fingers cross success
Now the shortcuts used for changing smoothing options for freehand tool can be used for multibrush as well.
I personally had fun working on this simple and very handy issue as my 1st patch. Thankyou
.
