Right now I am using the latest Krita from F-Droid and that’s version 5.1.5. Since I am trying to stick to F-Droid as much as I can for all my app needs on android devices, I’d like to keep Krita as part of F-Droid repository, considering that it’s already there…
But it hasn’t been updated for some time, which doesn’t bother me much for now, except for this one nasty bug that has hit me as well:
In my case it went to 63gb which was half of my tablet space! And I was able to solve it only by destroying data and then fine tune everything anew.
As far as I know, Krita doesn’t send anything to F-Droid. Regardless, there’s no need to wait. You can always get the apk directly from Krita.
Go to krita.org, hit download. If you’re on a mobile device it will show you the Play Store icon and directly below that is a link to all the apk files on kde.org. These files are officially maintained by Krita.
Note: If you’re on a Chromebook, don’t download 5.2.2. It’s working well on other Androids but has a problem with Chromebooks. 5.2.3 5.2.2.1 contains a fix but I don’t know if it’s available yet.
