Google says that about everything that doesn’t come from its Play Store. That’s Google corporate policy, and it’s called marketing, and it’s an unfair business practice to discredit all sources other than their “sacred” Play Store. Furthermore, the version criticized as dangerous is the same version that Google has distributed through its Play Store because Google gets it from the same source, namely the creators of Krita.
Hi, I tried this, but the Google store automatically downloads the 5.2.2, or auto updates as soon as it hits the tablet. Haven’t had time to try turning off automatic updates, not sure if I even can. Will have a go on the weekend.

It’s as @Michelist said, Google does not scan the file to determine it’s safety. They display that message each time a user elects to download an executable file.
Oh ok then Also by the way I know you said you don’t know which file chrome users would select but do you know the would that you would normally select if you wanted to open Krita
Ok I think I found the architecture in the system it said its Version 103.0.5060.132 (Official Build) (64-bit) so which thing would I download for that
Hello! I have been using Krita on my chromebook for around 4 months now, but it has suddenly started to show this message whenever I try to open it today:
(I downloaded Krita from the play store as it is the only place I can get it. I have redownloaded once and it still does not work. Any help would be appreciated.
