Krita freezing when importing a bundle through Resource Manager

Hello there Krita people!

I was trying to import Rakurri’s Brush Set V2 bundle, but when I click on “open” after I’ve selected the file thru the Resource manager, krita freezes. The bundle doesn’t show up in the list and basically it does nothing when clicking on the rest of the buttons, it’s frozen. The resource manager doesn’t recognize a new bundle either. Like when I click on create “Create Bundle” and then select a few brush tips or presents, give it a name etc… it doesn’t save it. It’s not in the list either, as if I did nothing.

For clarification, I’m using the latest version of krita 5.0.2 on Kubuntu 21.10 and I’ve installed krita thru the snap package. Funny enough, when I use the appimage for 5.0.2, krita doesn’t freeze and works as expected.

I don’t know if I’m doing something wrong or is there’s an issue with the snap… Let me know what you think!

Hello,

this might be related to this thread, [ Fighting with new improved “resource system”]

The freezing on import specially on large bundles are known to devs and they are now working on a fix with the help of those in the thread.

Check on our Chief Bug Wrangler Tiars reply 7h ago on the proposed incoming merge request that are being work on.

Thank you so much for the reply. I’ll be sure to check out the thread! I was mostly confused since the issue doesn’t happen in the appimage version.
