Description of the issue (you can include screenshots): super laggy display. ive found several videos telling me to go into Settings > configure krita > then display. but i hit settings and configure krita isnt an option. i found the page they were on a different way but then they say to reconfigure open GL to a different setting but i cant change open GL at all. im not sure what to do. my lag is unbearable and started off very subtle at first but always “not an issue at all” , even with the more complex brushes. now it takes 10 full seconds to render one brush stroke.

I don’t have a Mac device, but since you got the OpenGL setting page, a different setting may be tick off Canva Graphic Acceleration checkbox, if you can’t reach another renderer option.
You can tick off this option and try if the lag presist.
It it’s no use, there maybe something not related to OpenGL, but I have no knowledge about Mac
macOS (and Linux) don’t have Direct 3D/Angle, that’s a Windows thing.
What timescale is this?
Was it fine last year and suddenly went slow yesterday?
Is it fine at the beginning of a session and slows down after ten minutes?
Which version number of krita are you using?
Have you recently updated it?
Are you running any other applications at the same time?
If so, close them down.
How much RAM does your macbook have?
What size of canvas are you working with?
Do you have problems with the Basic-2 Opacity brush preset?
Can you upload a full screen screenshot (.png) while you are having this lag problem?
