I’m very sorry that happened to you, @Badkat.
the background (actually more foreground than background but whatever) of what I’m probably going to submit
probably
still up in the air
it needs work
and the subjects of the scene
just ignore me (unless you have feedback, that’d be great!)
if i end up finishing it in time, it’ll be something along the lines of ‘five seconds before descending’. . . and considering the dark red/black gloom at the bottom. . .
I’m not trying to be ominous, my language just failed me when i tried to finish that sentence (wow, I’m a sad excuse for a writer, i can’t even finish a basic sentence in my own language)
just ignore me being weird, alright?
@Celestial_Kitsune99 You can also add splashes of red blood on the bottom half… that would make the scene very ominous.
Another WIP:
So girl on the left will be the one the guy asks out. ![]()
Thanks for the votes guys.
but i like being called strange ![]()
sorry
thank you! i had been planning to add a light difference between the top and bottom of the stairs, and there’s going to be two people at the top, just outside the door, and one will be holding a torch, so I’d planned to have the glow from that be shiny and sort of glow down the steps. . .
I’m sorry if any of that doesn’t make any sense. im sleep deprived, which means that despite despite the fact that i should know English like the back of my hand, this language has lost all meaningful meaning to me
looks like it’s coming along pretty well
too bad. . . i voted for the girl on the right
![]()
as for your suggestion. . . my piece is supposed to going to be more of a quiet terror, blood splashes would be too
obvious ![]()
Plus there’s this conversation…
did this. . .
now it’s much more dark and ominous ![]()
. . . why does putting a smiley after that make it THAT much creepier?
at what point should i stop procrastinating on the background/foreground and start working on the characters?
yeah for real
also thank you ![]()
so ummmm. . .
I was messing around with my painting (read: procrastinating), and i did this and it looks really kinda creepy or something so i saved a copy
ummmmm. . .
just, like, ignore me
@Badkat Don’t forget to post your entry in the official monthly challenge topic. The link is in the first post of this thread.
Also,
No voting has taken place. The voting poll will be published after the submission deadline passes so remember to come back and vote for your favourite ones.
yes, that’s a floating torch, no, it won’t be floating in the final painting
i haven’t added the glowyness to it. . . by that i mean the light coming from it? it’s supposed to shine down the stairs and reflect off the walls a bit, but i won’t add that until i get the characters drawn
also how do i motivate myself to draw the characters and stop procrastinating on the background/foreground? i just find myself demotivated at the thought of drawing them. . .
That looks like a cool OC. Are you going to make a scene for it and then submit it to this month’s challenge?
Now it’s at this link: Sketchbook of Engrenageurs
I thought the art challenge included more than sketches of scenes.
Read the brief. I bet you can come up with something awesome.
I considered making a scene of a card game between the Land Acquisition Architect and the Chief Operating Officer Ottoman, two characters from Toontown: Corporate Clash.
But given my personal circumstances, I would need a laptop computer for that, most likely.
Even then, I would have the scene in my first-and-so-far-only sketchbook, at the least.
A little filling in today. Had to use the perspective assistant tool to get the positioning and eye level right. At least I hope it looks right. ![]()
Working on the meadow -grass section…
…and it’s turning out muddy!
And I’m not a fan of the colour pallet either.
!!!
As usual I’m adding too much detail.
I’ve got to break this darn, bad habit!!![]()
Naturally, cats rule!
That’s another winner!![]()
Hmm… have you done the background all on Krita, including the manikins, or were they imported from another program?
I do like your concept!![]()
