Hey thanks for noticing that ! yeah i like to have some little fun with the characters, i would make various changes to this illustration ( but that would be alot of job and prefer to keep it fun ) thiking about this bird learning to fly, very often i found myself watching too many tutorial videos of "how to draw/paint " and forgot to actually take a seat and draw/paint, or like this bird forgot how to fly ah! ( cheap metaphor )

Mermaid Handbag
I had some other ideas, but they were either too complicated for my skills or took way too much time and I got bored. In the end, I thought I wouldn’t join this time. Until I saw this handbag challenge on Pixilart and I made this in one evening! 
I wanted to use a palette from Lospec, but the colors ended up being too dull for me, so I made my own.

Hey folks! 
Finally time to present my entries!
This month’s theme inspired me to go full into The Jungle Book.
The first painting is obviously inspired by the opening scene in the Disney animation movie, which I took as a reference, along with various real-life panther images to make mine a bit less cartoony. I guess I didn’t reach realism though, as I didn’t stricly copy any photo. And I didn’t limit my palette for this one.
Second entry is King Louie fascinated by a wildfire, fortunately safe on the stone platform of his ruined temple. I didn’t technically use a limited palette for this one either, but the topic naturally drove me to limit myself to the colours of fire, so maybe it still counts for the optional challenge?
OMG I spent way too much time tweaking these paintings because I didn’t spend much time on the lineart! 
I’m now really wondering if painting is a thing for me after all. Maybe I should come back to the comics style lineart that I’ve been practicing most of my life before I subscribed here…? 
This limited color challenge would have been a perfect opportunity for it but I was already too far into the painting process when I started to have those thoughts, so I guess we’ll see next month…

So I didn’t spend much time on this, as every time I come onto my PC I feel immensely guilty that I should be getting on with my second book project instead of anything else, but I wanted to do something to participate as I’ve missed the last few challenges.
So I started off doing a watercolour to do a Beatrix Potter style, but I’ve discovered I really don’t like the default watercolour brushes. (So I guess I might be on the lookout for a watercolour bundle from somewhere).
Instead I defaulted to the good ole pencil shading brush, and then used a multiply layer for shading - still with the same colour pallet - to get a bit more depth.
For my restricted colour pallet, I recently bought these colour pallet cards by Sarah Renae Clark (“The Color Cube”) and so thought it was an excellent opportunity to use those. I picked card number 035. They even have the digital colour hex codes on the back for ease. (No, I’m not on commission… ).
Anyway, so here’s a kind of Beatrix Potter style with paper effect from the colour card pallet.
