Beautiful!
Hi all !
I’ve somehow managed to finish it. It’s a good thing I don’t have too many colour corrections at the end, being limited with the palette ! ![]()
I used more fluffy shapes™ than usual and really enjoyed the process. I think I’ve improved by working on this, so thanks again for providing a variety of contests ![]()
Oh, and the colour scheme I’ve adopted:
Cheers !
Happy April Monthly Challenge!
No real references this month, mostly just dreaming this stuff up.
Here is my first painting in keeping with the cat theme, Bright Lights Curious Kitty:
Using this Limited Palette:
Net up: Fuzzy Splunkers
I just wanted to have some curious fuzzballs going on an adventure!
Using the other method for limiting the palette:
Thanks for a super fun challenge this month!
Foxes are back.
they may have forgotten a few basic anatomical elements along the way, but yes, they’re back! : D
I love it! The foxes have a really fluid look with their tails and body curves which contrasts well with the mechanical parts. Very nice use of the restricted palette.
Oh WOW! I am just about to post my submission, and I swear I’d not seen yours yet! Great minds think alike I suppose! ![]()
I just had this idea for something more cartoonish than my usual, and feeling a little slow and off balance lately, so…Topsy Turtley is my Curious Animal submission. Hope y’all like him!
Great colours and I love the trees too.
Sorry I’ve been so quiet recently, but I’ve been having a very challenging couple of weeks. I’ve only managed to spend a bit of time on art so wasn’t sure I’d get a piece in for this.
I had intended to spend a few hours on this today, but then I woke up with a bad headache and nausea. I’ll spare you the rest, but it wasn’t pretty! ![]()
So I’m posting this in a very unfinished state with only 4 1/2 hours clocked up on it. Hopefully there’s enough information there so you can get a sense of the narrative.
It’s kind of a follow on from the mouse sketch I posted last year in my sketchbook. I’ve wanted to do another one for a while, so I thought this was a good opportunity scratch that itch.

Is it me or there are more and more entries? It feels like it gets harder to choose as the months pass, maybe there should be more votes available?
@Mythmaker, I hope you’re feeling at least a bit better by now.
Get well soon!
me crying inside each time i have to vote

Great work everyone! So hard to choose with so many awesome entries!
I forgot to mention I did control the palette for my piece. I didn’t do anything particularly clever though - It’s basically a warm palette of orange hues, with a complementary blue light.
Well, there were more entries last month, but I think the overall trend is positive. Considering past experiences on other art sites, I think it’s going very well.
The number of votes available used to vary from 1-3 depending on submissions. I’m not sure what the impact of more votes would be on the end result. ![]()
edit: Oh! - And thanks - I’m feeling much better than I did this morning! ![]()
