Rising up in the background, its great!
So many great entries in this challenge so far ![]()
This is my entry for this challenge and my first ever post of digital art.
@Corentin Thanks very much! I was bouncing back and forth between two ideas and I’m probably going to do the other one also (though probably not in time for the challenge)–the other is a profile and not nearly as destructive!
@rosa Thank you! These are the brushes I used (I knew I wasn’t going to be able to do what I was visualizing with just one!):
f) Speedpainting Blocking Shape Textured
b) Basic- 5 size opacity
d) Ink -3 Gpen
k) Blender Basic
k) Blender Blur
h) Chalk Soft
a) Eraser Soft
and a custom brush I made for a charred texture
@MangooSalade Thank you!
ooo nice!
Welcome to the first post club XD
Dragon Kite
- or the cross of a dragon and a kite ('cause in German a kite is a “Drachen” which literally translated to English means dragon).
Only one brush was used: h) Charcoal Grainy Sketch but a few layers for backround and texture.
Isn’t it problematic for a paper creature to breathe fire? ![]()
![]()
Welcome, @Maaka.
not if the fire is… paper ![]()
Don’t worry! It’s digital paper and fire.
My submissions for this month’s challenge:
In each, only one brush was used and the only adjustments made through the entire painting process were the opacity, size, and toggling the erase mode (because, ya, I make way too many errant marks when painting!).
Dragon Head - Using only the stock version of the RGB/Alpha bush: n) RGBA-wet 07 Bristles (You know, except for the signature logo )
Dragon of Clouds - Using only the stock values on the brush “Essential Cloud SmokePillar” (Except for the vector signature).

And thanks for all the hearts! ![]()
This really awesome. Love the colors and how it all flows so elegantly.
WOW! I love the tiger stripes of this Magnificent Hybrid Dragon! ![]()
Oooo… I love the foreboding element of this dragon in the background, yet it becomes the focal point! ![]()
Had to get my Hometown Mascot in on this Challenge!
Thank you!
Very nice! Rough Ink is a brush I’ve been catching as I scroll through the brushes and I always mean to explore it further.
In Denmark it’s similar, kite is Drage, which means Dragon
Hello. This is the finished CARTOON image. My style is CHIBI characters. I used only one brush: the BASIC-1 brush. For the light effect, I used the ADDITION blending mode and a little blurring effect.
The cartoon is entitled “When it’s not a good idea to go toward the light!”. I hope this makes everyone smile. I thought a little humor wouldn’t hurt. Cheers!
I love this. I love the whimsical feel.
@Artist78 Thanks! I like to create happy cartoons.
