Maybe a train/horse cyborg hybrid? I bet you can combine the two for a cool looking “horse”. ![]()
I would go for something that at least has horse looking features, even if it’s obviously not a robotic ‘horse’. I was wondering late last night whether I wanted to do Kiki riding a cool looking motorbike which had a metal horse head on the handlebars and horse body and legs metal framework. So it’s a horse-bike. Or the total metal body and head of a horse but wheels instead of legs. But I’m not experienced with rendering tech so I think I will stick to my original idea of a more human-like organic horse. I was going to go Beatrix Potter style and have them both be cute anhomomorphic characters wearing clothes, picking apples in the countryside. Watercolour and ink.
And maybe another entry of cute chibi characters giving a piggy back.
Or maybe all three!
Too many ideas and too little focus!
Kiki as Cyber- Squirrel Nutkin, I’d like to see that ![]()
I completely forgot about Brave Star
Oooooooooh, I didn’t realise Kiki was a cyber squirrel, it’s hard to tell from the pics that’s she’s a robotic/cyber character. (But I looked it up as text instead of only images and it’s one of the first things it says. Doh!) Oooh, now my mind has gone straight to Transformers. Kiki and the Maximals!
(That robotic horse theme is making so much more sense to me now
)
So, This is kind of out there but does it have to be a horse per se? Or can it be like a stick horse like this:
Haaahaha!
I love how we all try to find alternate workarounds!
Just finish the sketch of what i want to make to this month challenge. My doubt its about which look will be better for this illustration, should I go retro/pulp sci fi or manga sci fi ? Any other suggestions?
Yeah, I knew if I tried to draw tech or a full bodied horse. The art would turn out really wonky. ![]()
Hmm
I think a retro scif fi style would look amazing. But honestly I don’t think you could go wrong with either! ![]()
Thanks, I think Im going to retro sci fi, it was the original idea.
Hey, it’s way out of my comfort zone too! That’s why it’s called a “Challenge” ![]()
I’m loving all the discussion around this. It’s gonna be really interesting to see all the different takes on this topic <3
I double down on anthropomorphic-robotic horse xD
Kiki cyber-squirrel girl riding on back of cyber-horse girl running through some fields.
Maybe ill give them some country clothing strawhats etc.
@sooz can it be any form of robot
I don’t think that will meet the theme that was selected. When you get a chance, read the challenge description and see if you agree (link is at the top of this thread).
Can’t wait to see your submission!
Man, this is a tough one! Can’t wait to see all the submissions!
There’s something I’m wondering about in the formal rules:
Artwork should be done in Krita. Submissions must be done from scratch in Krita, no paint-over or tracing allowed. …
Does this mean I can’t make a pencil sketch on paper and start with a scanned image?
That’s a good question. I think scanning in a pencil sketch that was done by the submitting artist is ok because the challenge is looking for original artwork but maybe @raghukamath could comment on this.
I think the horses name was 30–30?. I remember there was a green bartender sidekick and a bad guy that was like an angry prospector. Also some orange rocks came with the action figures. Or it could have been a fever dream. ![]()
