I’ve tried it with two of the entries using GMIC interactive morphing and it’s not bad.
Simple cross fading would be easy but interactive morphing is interesting. It does have some complications though.
I’ll see how I feel and what I can do in early January.

WIP:

I didn’t have any ideas at first, so I just started doodling the base. But when I came back to it, I had the idea of drawing it with lots of different brushes mixed together, like a lot of different artists coming together.
Then it was still missing something; the brush. Instead of a brush with paint, I put a stylus drawing pixels to show the digital means used to create all these different styles.

I didn’t think about the angle of the stylus compared to the original, just drew what was in my hand. I’m not sure whether I want to change it. (And the stylus isn’t rendered at all yet, obviously.)
I think it might’ve been better to use a smaller canvas (than 2400px, which I used without thinking), so the details would be easier to see (compared to the default brush sizes of so many brushes being used).

Loving this, @freyalupen.

Initial sketch. Might be running with scissors but at least the KA should be visible when zoomed out.

I know! - I am paying attention! :+1:

I have a lot of distractions at the moment, so I haven’t done much for this myself - just a couple of sketches. But I’ve had loads of ideas - it will be hard to choose what to do!.

I think it’s quite an easy one to have a go at, but with plenty of scope for doing something elaborate. For me, I think the boundaries make it easier to focus - so generating ideas is quicker.

A couple of things I’ve been meaning to mention - One is I thought it might be good to make a poster/wallpaper image using all the entries once the challenge is over. I had that in mind from the beginning but didn’t want to complicate things with the brief. Also not sure what the best way to gather permissions for this would be.

The other thing is - I noticed the deadline seems a bit early - like over 5 days before the end of the month. I wasn’t sure if this was intentional; I know it’s a busy time of year!

As is traditional, we expect you to post your work about 30 minutes before the deadline

Yes, the timeline is a bit short this month. This is a busy time of year for many. I want to make sure there’s ample time to pick the winner and have that person respond with the theme for next month.

30 minutes?! - That’s getting it in early for me! :stuck_out_tongue_winking_eye:

Well… I suppose I’d better make some time for this over the next few days or I won’t get it done! :upside_down_face:

I’ve finally got time to work on an entry for this challenge! I think I’m all caught up with Christmas pet portraits now. Raised some much needed funds for Sadie’s Heart Animal Rescue here in Florida. <3
