Monthly Art Challenge WIPs and Discussion Thread – July 2024

Great job… But it’s not finished until you explain what is that suspicious-looking blue liquid that seems to move on its own! :face_with_raised_eyebrow:

I wanted the still life to not be so still.

Hmmm… If you trapped Hydro-Man in his liquid form, is it still still-life?

I would say it’s either still life or a portrait.

Put something really weird in there

I’ll see what I can do.

This is what I am working on for the challenge I’m hoping to get the background figured out. I figured I’d make planetary marbles as the still life part that seems to be the easy part the background I have some ideas for just trying to think of how to pull them off.

Planets represented as marbles are a great idea! Would be nice to see a stellar system like this!

Perhaps you could add something to the lower end of the table.

Alright… I’m executing @KRITAKOUGAR 's idea of a composition of old works. this is my comp…

This is the status after merging it to one layer and using the textured blend brush to give me my base paint;

Gauntlet mode begins now…

Once again into the fray,
Into the last good fight I’ll ever know
Live and die today
Live and die today

I expanded on the idea of @DavidMahl’s moving potion to make a proper levitation potion!

Now for the background I think the focal point is finished

Well, glad I could inspire, but the composition you ended up with is so far from what you used to begin that it now has it’s own life and is unrecognizable from the originals. Can’t wait to see where this goes!

These are what I’m working on for this month:

Nature_Morte_Pixel

That’s the first one. After working some time on the second drawing, I can see how the color of the glass isn’t good, I’ll definitely change it.

And the second one, where I tried something new:

Fisheye perspective! It’s only halfway(?) done, but I like how it doesn’t feel so flat. For the ones curious about what I used to make it, I grouped three assistant tools together; two fisheyes and one vanishing point. Just like that:

@Katamaheen Oooooh! Love the fish eye piece. I was just about to ask you how you did that LOL

I was curious if I wanted to make a revision to my submitted piece would that be allowed and would I just have to edit my submission post and just replace the first piece with the revised version?

Yeah, I think you can! :slightly_smiling_face:

Thank you. I read through the rules and must have missed that part. My eyes aren’t what they use to be :slightly_smiling_face:

I changed mine 3 times already because of smaller details that probably only I could see…
As you said, just edit your post, ditch your image and uplead the new version.
