Probably a world where this isn’t an oxymoron, but the problem is that the contest still takes place in our world! 
Normally only dead creatures can appear in a still-life composition, and your… beholder-like thing seems very much alive.

A update on the first image I posted and details on the second one.
I was trying to get the city and road lights to work, but the mood just wasn’t feeling right to me.
When I turned those layers off (yes, layers so no extra credit here) and added in a bunch of rain, it all started to come together.
I’m happy with the three styles of flower paintings in my submission for this month.
I think I personally like the middle submission the most. Even though it is the least complex and least alien, it came the closest to this month’s gauntlet challenge with only a few undos to clean up errant marks my computer captures from my pen. I think it’s the one I’m going to print out and hang up somewhere.

I saw the post by Katamaheen and it got me wondering how y’all vote on a collection when multiple paintings are submitted to this challenge.
(Select up to 2 responses if you are selecting “Something Else” otherwise please select the best response.)
- I vote on the best submission
(If one in the collection is Great it gets a vote no matter what the others look like) - I vote on the worst submission
(If one in the collection is bad, it doesn’t matter what the others look like, no vote from me) - I vote on them as a whole collection
(I average them all out and if that AVG score is enough the collection gets my vote) - Something else (reply and let us know what that would be)

I’m kind of in a creative block at the moment, nothing comes out. 
but maybe the machine would be useful

I try to find a middle ground between what I prefer aesthetically and what I find the most relevant and fitting for the current topic. A great idea is as important as a great skill.

And then there’s the finals thread, where you are supposed to post your final entry to get voted on. The thread is close now unfortunately.
