Thank you @MangooSalade ! Thank you @sooz !

@edgarej It was fun until most of us contracted Covid 19. We are home recovering now. Kicked my butt big time. :face_with_thermometer: Hopefully, I’ll feel up to getting my entry in before long.

Lazy days of summer bring back memories of looking up at the clouds and seeing animals in them. Well, why not dragons?
For the second half of the month, I’m going to play with a custom cloud brush I use for my landscapes and see if I can make a magnificent dragon in the sky! It’s a total WIP and a long way to go, but here’s the basic outline…

Hello. This is the finished CARTOON image. My style is CHIBI characters. I used the BASIC-1 brush only. For the light effect, I used the ADDITION blending mode and a little blurring effect.

The cartoon is entitled “When it’s not a good idea to go toward the light!”. I hope this makes everyone smile. I thought a little humor wouldn’t hurt. Cheers!

@Corentin. How do I do that?

I’m currently working on my first step, brush selection for the optional challenge.
Think I’ll be going for MB Lineart from the Marc Brunet brush set.
This brush has a nice texture to it I think, a bit reminiscent of pastel brushes on a high brush size and not to smooth a line on its normal setting.
I tried blending with it as well, by lowering the opacity on the eraser function and I think I can get acceptable results.

Had to switch brushes and start over, the land was just not working with the custom brush I was using. Now I’m using the Essential Cloud SmokePillar for everything and I think it’s starting to come together. Now I’ll just need to work on adding in the cloud dragon highlighting to give it some more personality…

Still pondering how I want to approach my dragon. I want to portray a dark, ominous scene of an explorer stumbling upon a waking giant. Gonna do some preliminary sketching today and I’ll post it here.
