This text tool’s future is about as bright as a black hole. All I ask for is a little mercy:
Automatic word wrap based on the text frame size, because apparently, enter “enter” is kinda hurting my fingers.
Color selection that doesn’t play hide-and-seek with the default gray.
Look, I’m a coder. C++ and Python for years.
But I know nothing about Qt and GUI. I can’t really find time to learn those either. It just ain’t happening. (Bc I am learning to draw.)
So, since I can’t contribute with code, here’s my war paint:
I’ve been a loyal Krita user for, oh let’s say, 2.8 glorious years (and yes, I know all the shortcuts, thank you very much). I’m simply not switching software for this text tool torture.
Once Krita blesses us with that auto-wrap function (fingers crossed your definition matches mine!), I’m donating the income from my next 3 projects to the Krita development fund. We’re talking $60 a pop, and let me tell you, those prices will be higher when the update lands.
I know, it’s not Intel level funding, but after factoring in the therapy bills from using another software’s text tool, it’s the best deal i can offer.
This update is basically the QOL many are waiting for, so I hope more folks join this glorious, slightly uncoordinated, user uprising!
What do you say? Guys?
(I am not trying to push the devs to do anything, consider this post a little rant from a loyal user.
If mods somehow finds this post inappropriate, do remove it as you would, but I will hold my part of promise anyway.)
