Options to configure which dockers to hide in canvas-only mode

Right now we have options like these:

However I’d like to hide everything except Overview docker because it’s very important to check the whole composition is right while painting. Some people may want to hide everything but Advanced Color Selector. Some people may want to leave Layers on the screen. I think it would be nice if each docker’s visibility in canvas-only mode can be configured individually.

As a workaround, look into Krita’s Workspaces, they’re basically configurations of what dockers are visible. Assuming you have a new and default krita installation, its a button on the very top right.

I suppose Canvas-only mode ought to be integrated into Workspaces, they both serve very similar purposes.

In terms of workarounds:
Window > New View > “Document Name” can get you a nice overview. If you set Settings > Configure Krita > General > Window > Multiple Document Mode > Subwindows - these are two windows, and you can right click on one of them and make it “always on top”. You can even press ctrl+y to get grayscale preview (if you set soft proofing to grayscale)

Advanced color selector can be brought to canvas-only mode with shift+i (definitely needs changing to something easier to reach with your keyboard or tablet button)

Presets are under right click, though layers docker is the only one that don’t have any possibility to appear now.

But yes - this makes sense to get some nice ideas how those dockers to stay could be specified.

Hmm… this doesn’t work for me. Is this shortcut configurable? I couldn’t find it in the shortcut settings.

‘Show color selector’.
It should make the selector appear under your cursor.

‘Show color selector’.

Oh okay, thank you! I forget I’ve changed that shortcut.

Hey everyone.
I wanted to revive this original feature request. It would be very useful to be able to select which dockers to keep in canvas only mode. I am trying to develop a good workspace for tablet and mobile devices. For this, minimalism is key and canvas only mode allows us to quickly toggle between a minimal mode for working and a more cluttered mode for settings. But some dockers would be useful to always stay open.
The pupup menu with the docker box is very useful, but still I sometimes want to paint without opening and closing menus.
Consider giving an upvote to this request if you agree. Thanks!

You already can create different workspaces for different situations. Those stock workspaces Krita ships with are not the world’s end. So you can create one or more workspaces with the dockers you want to have in canvas-only mode and call them as needed.

Thank you! I know about workspaces, but they offer only a partial solution to the problem. Someone mentioned merging workspaces and canvas only mode earlier in this thread.

For workspaces to completely cover this usecase, they would need to save additional settings like scrollbar visibility, status bar visibility, file menu bar visibility etc. Like I said, minimalism is key on mobile devices.

As far as I know, there is also no shortcut to switch to a specific workspace and the four finger tap gesture (switches to canvas only mode on tablets) can not be assigned to switch to a workspace.

I will make a separate feature request to save additional settings into workspaces.

This feature request would still be very useful to achieve minimal clutter while working on tables or even phones.

I fully agree. Now I use this plugin: [Plugin Release] Docker Under Cursor - make docker display in mouse position - Resources / Plugins and Scripts - Krita Artists as a workaround. But it’d be very nice if a better solution is built in Krita.
