Pen not working in Krita but everywhere else

I’ve used Krita for a good while now on Windows, and now my hardware wont support the new updates. Memory use went off the chart, lagging all over the place, so I hopped to Ubuntu.

But now the pen doesn’t work. The pen works perfectly in Gimp, and I can use it normally outside of, but not in Krita. In Krita I can only move the cursor but not click on anything or draw. Information I’ve found online seems outdated and doesn’t want to work.
I am a Linux n00b, but willing to learn.

I have tried all kinds of updates and downgrades. Appimage, snap, deb. Installed, reinstalled, and wrecked my brain over all the settings.
Has anyone a solution and willing to share?

My first guess would be Touchscreen stylus not working on Gnome 50

Thanks! I’ll check it out and see if it works.

If I was you I’d check the Settings/Configure Krita/Tablet settings and make sure it’s set to WinTab, not Windows ink (and to make sure it’s the same in your tablet driver)

Disclaimer, I’m not sure about Linux and you might get a better answer from the moderator(s).

no WinTab option in Linux

Krita works with Xorg! Thanks for pointing me in the right direction :slightly_smiling_face:

now I have a ton of other non-Krita related problems, so… partial solution I guess?
