seems like every time it says mouse release in the tablet tester the line disappears & it creates a new line, but it does not say that the stylus moved away from the tablet. this seems to happen when i’m drawing as well, it happens with multiple brushes like in this picture below. Picture also has my pen settings in it for krita & my intuous pro medium, which is really old but still in great condition.

I tried raising the lowest pen pressure up & to the right but it didn’t seem to help so i put it back to the bottom left corner. I also turned up the speed from 42 to 50 but it still breaks a lines or lets up suddenly when i’m drawing. when I draw lines it typically tapers at the end if the brush has pressure settings like it should, but it’ll also lose pressure in the middle. Even on hard brushes with no pressure it’ll skip for some reason, the stylus seems to be touching the tablet throughout which seemed to be confimed when I used the tablet tester. I was also looking at the stylus to be sure so i’m thinking it’s a settings issue or something of that sort.

I noticed a couple of things you might want to look into. First, you’re on Windows so you’re better off choosing wintab in krita and then go into the Wacom desktop center and turn off Windows ink in the pen settings. That will make Krita and your tablet match when it comes to deciding whether or not to use Windows Ink.

Be sure to close krita and restart it for these changes to take effect.

The other thing I noticed is you have practically zero pressure showing in the testing screenshot. You should be showing 10% 40% 80% and instead you’ve got .04% or tiny numbers like that.

One of our members just made a really awesome pressure testing brush preset. I’ll go and look for that and stick it in this comment in a couple of minutes. That might help you get everything adjusted properly.

Edit: here’s the link 'Show and Tell' Pressure Reporting Brush Preset (includes a challenge)

wow, that is really helpful. thank you. it does seem to be messed up. I changed the settings to wintab in krita, closed it , changed wacom to not use windows ink & reopened krita. downloaded the brush & i got these readings which look really bad.

I was wondering if you made any global pressure adjustments in the Wacom desktop center that may be affecting what’s going on in krita.

the only option i have for pressure in the wacom tablet properties is the one in the first picture i posted, i don’t think i have the wacom desktop center but maybe, i’ll have to look right now.

i do not have wacom desktop center

this is actually the intuous pro L that i have, my mistake, i bought it in 2013.

i’m going to download the latest drivers for it maybe that’ll help. mine are a year old apparently.

I didn’t see the Wacom pressure setting the first time I looked. You have it set almost all the way to firm – move it quite a bit to the left, like way down towards soft and do some more tests.

it does seem to be that one setting. i’ll have to dial it in so that I can get a good taper but it’s hitting numbers up to 100 now. thank you for fixing my settings.
