Pigment.O plugin

After you have selected the downloaded file in your file manager, you have to click on an OK-Button or hit the Enter-Key, something like that is meant with confirming the selection.

I don’t know which operating system or file manager you or others use, so I have to keep such descriptions general. I can’t assume that everyone uses Windows and Explorer, I use Windows but not Explorer, and with other operating systems there are other buttons to press to confirm an entry.

When Krita asks you if you want to activate the plugin, then click on the YES-Button or OK-Button.

But if you have any further questions, please get in touch. It can just sometimes take me longer to answer.

(To be more precise I have Windows)

Does that mean you need more help? If so, where are you stuck?

Here you begin via Tools >> Scripts >> “Import Python Plugin from File…” (sorry for typo!):

Here you confirm with “Open” (in my German Windows “Öffnen”):

Here you have to select yes (it is the question if you want to activate the plugin):
Plugin 3

Hi, first thanks for the great plugin !

I wanted to mention that here click&drag (in the main selector and in any slider) is really slow when using my tablet’s pen compared to using my mouse (I’m using Linux Manjaro with OpenTabletDriver).

I tried to disable the tablet event receivers in the py files but with no difference.

I wonder if the mouse move event is triggered too many times when using the tablet, causing too many updates.

If I got time, I’ll try to investigate more. But if you’ve got any idea, please share.

Thanks, enabling “Release Applies Color” improved the responsiveness of the UI, though there is still an obvious but acceptable lag with the tablet (compared to the mouse).

Just for testing, I reduced the frequency of the tablet’s pen to 60Hz (with OpenTabletDriver’s Temporal Resampler plugin) and indeed it removed the lag in the UI (the normal frequency is 220Hz).

Anyway, I have a very old computer and if the problem’s become too annoying for me, I’ll try to implement a frequency limiter or something in Pigment.O.

Hi!
I might have found a problem when the screen needs to have a color calibrated profile.

srgb uncalibrated screen, srgb in color management settings in krita:

But if I need my screen to use a color calibrated profile that I set in the os and in krita to match, then the color you paint with and what is in the selector are a bit different:

example two example two cause I’m afraid it’s not visible enough in the previous screen:

other example, difference visible in the header:

I checked if the problem was krita itself, but the normal color selectors look correct.

Wonderful plugin! I’m trying to learn it properly, and I was confused with the Document Analyse button.

What is its function and how can I use it? (By the name I know is meant to analyse the document, but after pressing it and waiting a bit to process, I don’t get what is doing)

(I wasn’t able to find info about it in the Wiki)

Thanks again for the plugin, is much better than the original color picker!

Hi, I’m new to using the Pigment.O plugin and everything has been amazing so far. I just can’t figure out how to use the mixer. I can set the mix colors, but it doesn’t mix afterward, is there something I need to do maybe?

I love it.
I replaced it in place of the advanced color picker.
I’m also doubly happy.
even though I had been using Krita for almost 3 years,
I wasn’t aware of the plugins.
I have always worked with the basic configuration of the program
Now I’ve also learned how to install them. :tada: :raised_hands::tada:

I thought it was the harmony and history tabs that broke the mixer, so I disabled those and resaved the colors and it worked, but then I disabled and activated the color spaces and then reenabled the history and harmony tabs and now it works again, so idk why it does that, its a really weird bug.

tldr: Disable and reenable the color spaces and change and save the colors to fix the mixer

Thank you so much!!! Disabling and re-enabling the color spaces didn’t help, however, going with what you said, I disabled the history and harmony tabs one after the other, and it seems like the harmony tab is the problem.

Tldr: disabling the harmony tab fixed my mixer.

I did manage to make the mixer work with the harmony tab, but I don’t know what I did to fix it, and I can’t figure out how to break it again

I think I figured it out:

If you select the rightmost of the harmony colors and save them to the mixer, the gradient breaks. So to fix it you have to first select only the first two colors of the Harmony on the Analoguous, Triadic and Tetradic, or only the first one on Complementary, Monochromatic doesn’t work at all, and then replace the saved colors.

idk why it does that

Edit: Uhh, suddenly the fourth color (of any rule) works, so I either miscalculated my tests or something else is happening

an actual bug report. thank you. I will look into it to see if I can fix this.
I have been looking for this mixer break for a long while.

I tried your recommendations and as soon as I turn on the harmony tab, the mixer just breaks. I think I’ll just work around not using harmony unless I absolutely have too. Thank you so much!

Update

  • bug fixes

Changes

  1. Fixed sample hue maps when perfect black is present so not to use the last self.hue but instead the value zero. For calculations.
  2. Harmony colors being set to ( True, False, True, False, True ) reason unknown as I did not found how they are set and alternated. harmony colors don’t change active state nor need to. I did a clean up to true when harmony colors are calculated. This should fix the mixer @ceilingk5
  3. Some “Try” and “Excepts” were lifted so if it crashes it will crash but will say what. But I have confidence that currently it should not be needed. but I might revert it back if something happens.

Have the bugs in Linux been resolved? I did what I could but it still didn’t work, do you still intend to fix them or unfortunately there is no way to resolve them?

Regarding Bug Reports

Due to the increasingly diluted quality of bug reports that reach the realm of fake reports quite often. Please do bug reports into Github so each and every bug report can be properly addressed.

Also this is valid to all my other plugins.

All my plugin threads have become bug report Jenga threads with wrong information for the most part. rarely do I see real bug reports anymore. I welcome them but this is has come to a ridicule state.

This will be shifted because there is a massive miss use, and very arguably an abuse by the community on how to handle bug reports in these threads.

Plugin threads should be to talk and or discuss about the topic not to SPAM SYSTEMATICALLY and mind you with USELESS / FAKE bug reports that drown out any and all conversation or ideas of people using them or even seeking clarification.

Because it is always an account that was created 3 hours ago to make 1 and only 1 post to me and review bomb with something fake, unverifiable and or subjective to a personal opinion. And after that they disappear forever. So bots, fake accounts or trolls, one of them must be. And curious fact they return every 2 months to be well spaced out with a new account.

Also on another note when making a bug report, please place all the necessary information ! if the report is incomplete it is the same as nothing. So if you receive a error message copy paste the whole text message. DON’T SCREENSHOT the header as if it just that is useful information … it needs the complete message
