I draw figures, gestures and mostly nude to learn, is it allowed here or not? I see a nsfw tag and some nsfw pictures but I’m not sure how far the rule faq: “…anything obscene or sexually explicit.” goes?
Thank you very much.

Given that nsfw means ‘not safe for work’ then any portrayal of nudity would be nsfw. As for “…anything obscene or sexually explicit.”, I personally don’t think that an honest study of the naked human form is at all obscene or sexually explicit. So it is confusing but there are different personal and cultural standards.
I’d say blur any nudity just to stop people getting into trouble at work. It’s better to be safe than sorry and anybody who wants to see it can do that easily.
Yeah but NSFW tagged pictures are already completely blurred here, is it neccesary to add censoring over the image itself too?
For example I draw figures, they are people, they are nude. So if work is at stake I think the nsfw tag and its function itself already present a safe lock for that itself.
There are naked people’s drawings here without any censorship already so I’m interested in how far the rules go here to know what is safe to post and not considering there is already an automatic blur over it :-).
I made a very badly worded statement - “I’d say blur any nudity …”
By that I meant apply a nsfw tag to any nudity, which makes it blurred and keeps it blurred for anyone who hasn’t set their profile to see nsfw tagged work.
I have no idea what is acceptable or not for content seen after nsfw blurring is removed but I can make fairly intelligent guesses.
This needs common sense and maybe some more discussion and guidelines but the site management is always, and has to be, the final decision maker in those situations.
Yeah that’s why I’m looking for the krita-artists.org big guys’s answers ;0.
I’m fairly liberal in my case so if there is nsfw tag I don’t care what people put there (art wise) but it might be pretty different with the website holders ;).
We have had this talk fairly often after we set up this site. as @AhabGreybeard said some study sketches and even painting with nudity is allowed but should tagged as nsfw. What isn’t allowed is porn or erotic content. As for what constitutes porn or erotic it depends on person to person and also country to country. So in general other than painting which won’t have the characters in them doing sexual act, doing some sexual poses, showing underage people doing those act etc it should be safe. There is not comprehensive technical list of things that can’t be posted here it is all based on common sense.
There is also some discussion in this thread - Content policy?
So in short it is okay to have nudes in your painting. If the artwork contains nude or images which are not safe for work or children always add #nsfw tag. If you think your work is going on the border of porn or eroticism then do not post it here. Since this site is available in any countries we don’t want to take risk or compromising the future of website.
