Questions about "My patterns" post

I want to make some changes to the topic “My Patterns” and as these changes will be many, besides I have some doubts, I decided to let you know and ask first. The following is:

• The pattern pack I posted there will continue to be available for free download, but I’m discontinuing it. This is because, in my tests, I found that the patterns were small in size and in low resolution, being only suitable for use on the internet.

• So, I adapted and reformulated the old patterns (with the exception of three of them) for high resolution work (300 dpi). I added others and with that I arrived at… 216 patterns.

• I divided the patterns into two packs: one (free) containing 16 patterns and another (paid) containing all 216 patterns. Both packs come with a pdf manual, containing usage / installation instructions and short tutorials on how to use Gimp and Krita.

So my questions are:

  1. Can I include the link to the paid package (it’s from Gumroad) in the topic? If not possible, how should I proceed? In a computer forum I participate in, they allow posting of such links only in the signature, not in the topic text.

  2. Can I create a new topic for the new patterns? In the old topic, “My patterns”, I just add the information that it has been discontinued and with the link to the new topic, the rest is left as it was.

Yes, there is already a precedent for a paid plugin here. May be we can have tags for paid and non paid resources. You can post paid plugins resources, tutorials etc.

Sidenote - For artists to self promote and provide link to socials and portfolio there is also a Artists For Hire category.

That seems apt for this scenario as there will be less confusion. In case you want me to close the old thread let me know.

Thank you! I’m going to create a new thread for the new features. Then put a note in the old thread that that package is deprecated and the reasons why. I think after that, there’s no reason to leave the old thread open, if anyone has any questions they can post in the new one…

Done!
