Greetings all,
I am new to Krita. What I need to do is replace the background in a .jpg photo. I read on Duck.ai that Krita can do this, but I haven’t found how to do it in the documentation.
I am running Krita 5.2.2 on Linux Mint:
System:
Kernel: 6.8.0-100-generic arch: x86_64 bits: 64 compiler: gcc v: 13.3.0 clocksource: tsc
Desktop: Cinnamon v: 6.6.7 tk: GTK v: 3.24.41 wm: Muffin v: 6.6.3 vt: 7 dm: LightDM v: 1.30.0
Distro: Linux Mint 22.3 Zena base: Ubuntu 24.04 noble
Can someone help?

Semantic object selection
Background removal
Features
Point Segmentation Selection Tool - click on an object in the image/layer to select it.
Box Segmentation Selection Tool - draw a bounding box around an object to select it. More precise than using a single click.
Smart Fill Tool - similar to “Smart Patch”, but can pick up some patterns in photos better. Not very reliable at…
It can be used with Linux and Windows.
