I wonder if it’s possible to be able to enable some floating dock while in the Show Canvas Only mode (when tap Tab Key)
I very enjoying painting in the Show Canvas Only mode, because of my personal preference, I don’t use much tools, but mostly just brushes. The current popup windows is great for change brushes and tweaking brush setting very quickly while in the Show Canvas Only mode.
I just wonder if the Show Canvas Only mode could provide a feature of enable some floating dock, such as Specific Color Selector, or a New View of the working piece so that I can scale the duplicated the work piece in a small scale while painting the original size in the Show Canvas Only mode. It’s kind like the photoshop feature. or the Navigation windows.
What you can do is change the workspace to one that only has the floating dockers you require, then go to Canvas Only mode which has been setup to not hide the ‘Toolbox and dockers’.
The Toolbox will not be present because your custom Workspace design will have removed it.
There are also ways offered through the use of plugins, unfortunately, you did not name your operating system, as it is hinted to do in our forums FAQ, so this could be useless for you if you’re an Android user.
You can also have Krita’s Toolbox and the Tool Options Docker in canvas only mode, if you go for the Krita UI Redesign-Plugin, both can be viewed/hidden with a click of your stylus.
Instead of (the combination) of KanvasBuddy and Krita UI Redesign-Plugin, you can go for the much more advanced new Touchify from @CarWalTech, which includes the aforementioned plugins, to gain space on the canvas. And Touchify in particular is absolutely amazing once you have understood how to use it.
Unfortunately, there is no good description for Touchify yet, and there are a few reports of crashes due to Touchify, so it should not be used in a production environment, or if you want to use it in such, you should have made consecutive backups in short intervals to a deeply internalized habit, so you won’t lose much progress in case of a crash. But I have to admit, I had no crashes so far with it while testing it. The currently (2024.09.19) most recent download of it is started using this direct download-link:
