Is anyone else seeing an issue with the selection tools in Beta? I think they are working because i can copy and paste, but i don’t see the selection boundary.
Also, i used to be able to right click and copy an image in the browser, and ctrl-shift-r (paste as reference image) - but it doesn’t seem to be pasting anymore. ctrl-shift-n works though (paste as new image)
I liked the update. The check feature on layers is so cool, now working on my drawings will be a bit easier. Haven’t seen a single crash yet.
Only feedback so far is that the touch docker just shows white for some reason.
The group drop down of the brush preset docker now has big empty squares next to their names. I thought maybe they’re check boxes but I don’t seem to be able to do anything with them.
That’s weird. Another edge case bug probably. The selection changed in the new version, and I love this new, thicker look:
I’m on Windows 11.
Which rendering API are you using? You could try switching to native OpenGL in Configure > Display > Preferred renderer.
Another option I found that seems to relate to selections is Display > Miscellaneous > Enable selection outline anti-aliasing, but it doesn’t seem to do anything for me.
Would you mind sharing your GPU and driver version? I’m not familiar with how Krita renders these selection outlines, but worth ruling out the driver issues.
I can confirm selection outlines being invisible using an Intel GPU with OpenGL (on Windows at least), and this doesn’t happen in 5.1.5, or using my Nvidia GPU. However, as the warning box in the Canvas Acceleration page states, Intel+OpenGL isn’t guaranteed to work properly. You’re likely better off using ANGLE.
I’m on a MobileStudio 16 - has onboard intel iris 550 (driver 31.0.101.2112) and nvidia quadro m1000m (31.0.15.2895). Even though it’s plugged in, windows decided it wanted to use the intel card I forced it to use NVIDIA via graphics settings and now both OpenGL and ANGLE work
As almost always, the manual is your friend, you can call it directly out of Krita using the shortcut F1, or you follow the following links →
And so, this would be a good starting point:
on Android, the 1st time I opened it, it lasted for a minute before crashing; after that, it crashes almost instantly when opened.
on PC, I tried setting up a shortcut for Select layer below cursor with Ctrl + Alt + Left mouse button: It works when I use a mouse but doesn’t when I tried to click with my pen (Huion Kamvas 22 plus)
I only opened the Beta and looked at the settings still.
Why is there no Dockers until you open a document ? I am perplexed with this, like:
Log viewer handicapped severely. Plugin makers on windows nerfed and increased production time because of boot time added to open document time if your making a docker. Not to mention opening Krita is one thing and opening a document is another thing. Having both clumped just makes a compounded one problem or maybe two problems that you dont know where it started, from the start or from the document or even both? what if the problem happens after you close the document? you wont know either because it closes when there is no document present so you cant read anything what so ever.
Comic Book Manager effectively killed. Opening a document to open another document… Yes. Because when you open a document with python it is not registered in the recent Images so you need to access the project first. The plugin “Project Pages” which is similar also killed but that will not even leaves files to be opened with python so even if get registered to the recent Images section, because it deals with zip files and compresses everything after you close the project, the link to the recent files is no longer valid so because of this you also need to access the project first. So both need a docker to open a document inside a project that does not happen until you open a document.
Plugins that do file management in batches nerfed. not available until you open a document. So I will have to open a document make changes to my files on my hardrive? that may be opened or not. Krita can do more than act on open documents on canvas.
Plugins “Imagine Board” and “Photobash Images” unable to open documents despite having access to the files in the hardrive.
At least you can still access the Scripter without a document open because it is connected to the File menu.
So I REALLY ask is there a way to undo this no dockers present on boot ? I can’t find any option in the settings. Because the only thing I find is to reactivate the docker manually though the menu every time I boot up which is impossible to maintain while coding.
Because of the Python change I am trying to update and I can’t see anything to fix it.
Also layout wise why is not format it in 2 columns below to erase this odd diagonal near the void ? also the text inside the block is an impediment to acctually format the block of images inside the widget.
