Second Beta for Krita 5.2.0 Released - please help by testing and reporting bugs!

Well I guess I will be doing later after I test things out more.

This is probably one of the few times I would actually support having toggle to do it the other way as it was before. Because the look is there.

More stuff:

  • From PyQt5.QtMultimedia Modules QMediaPlayer, QMediaContent are just missing. Wonder if this beta has everything.

Which device?

This is probably because of the shift to mlt for audio and ffmpeg being built in. But I am not a dev so I do not know the exact reason.

There is not an option to keep dockers open on the welcome page. Perhaps it could be made optional, but most dockers aren’t very useful without a document open anyway. Many of the ones that are are plugins, in which case adding an option to those to ‘show on startup’ (to automate showing as under Settings->Dockers) would be a potential solution.

Krita’s dependency on QtMultimedia has been removed with the move to MLT-based animation audio, thus its PyQt is no longer compiled with it either.

They look like empty icons. Something must not be loading up

I agree it would be the easiest way to make things work considering all possibilities. Despite thinking hiding the dockets was just extra work to begin with as it was good already. Also as I was trying to unlock them I noticed that pressing the shortcut to show/hide dockers is also locked despite manually activating them working.

Why not just place the pyqt complete instead of cutting the module into pieces? I need to see how this mlt audio is accessible then.

Rotate Canvas Shift + Alt + Space doesnt snap to 15Degree increments After being rotated By Shift + Space by random degree. Which prefents zeroing rotation.
This bug was present and fixed before. Worked well in 5.1.

Isn’t taking these modules only for efficient use and to save program size?
I look at it more like, take only what’s needed instead of the whole thing.

The boxes next to the Tag names resemble some kind of empty icon to me. They seem to have been introduced by the Qt update somehow, as they’re not present in the January 06 (19d3f9243b) Nightly but are in the January 13 (5d138703f8) Nightly as well as a Qt 5.15 test build made by Dmitry in November. It certainly seems to be a bug.

The nightly seem to have tried to fix crash bugs in Android. Should try to test the nightly. Seemingly Samsung devices were crashing Krita. This is for everyone’s information.

Yeah, sorry for that, my previous change broke it. I didn’t realize this was the desired behavior.

In case you missed the update in the bug tracker, this is now fixed in the nightly builds. I don’t think there are automated builds for the beta branch.

If you’re referring to commits 45c7b53f, aa029234, and d118d1e3, those are backports to 5.3 of commits from 5.2-beta1 which prevented a crash (and also prevented the build succeeding) due to the redesign of the welcome page, and are unrelated to bug 472705.

There are; the ‘Krita Plus’ builds for the Stable branch. (They only got switched from 5.1.5+ to 5.2.0-beta1+ a few days ago.)

Yeah, the crash is still there sadly. Back to 5.1.x

Hello.
I am testing 5.2. I discovered this problem, after several hours of work, the ability to add a new layer and scrolling disappears in the layers panel. The problem is fixed by restarting. I work on a Macbook Pro M1
