Second Beta for Krita 5.2.0 Released - please help by testing and reporting bugs!

I started trying out the newest Beta version 5.2 and love the functionality and new options, however, I’m unable to get it to save a render for animation or image sequence. Not sure if there’s something I’m neglecting to do, had no issues in the 5.1 version.

Can you check if I have encountered such a problem:
Portable version of Krita 5.2. beta
Animation rendering settings are reset when re-entering the dialog and when opening additional windows (specifying the path to files)
With the simultaneous installation of 2 checkboxes
“sequence export” and “video export”, the program does only the sequence.
When I set only one checkbox “export video”, the export works, a sequence is created and deleted after the FFmpeg video is created.
Is this similar to what you are facing?
Should We move these comments to the topic dedicated to the release of version 5.2?

Call to awareness.

It seems that with the upgrade to Krita 5.2.0 beta, the line tool is now facing a little regression.
The lines at diagonal angles seem to be more wobbly.

In the reference picture, above represent the lines drawn with assistant.
Those below are lines drawn with the line tool.

In Krita 5.1.5 and previous versions, this issue is inexistent.

Hello, im trying out Krita’s Animation tools since i heard it was rewritten and that ffmpeg is now included by default in the new beta, everything is good and i like it a lot. I would like to use it more, might as well use it as one of my main tools for animation, my only issue is that playing the animation will randomly crash Krita without any freezing or warning, it just closes krita.

Ive read similar problems here, and it seems that krita gets out of memory but im not sure about my case.

My computer has 16GB of ram, an RTX 3060 NVidia card, and a Ryzen 9 CPU, so it is weird that krita crashes with an animation with no more than 20 frames, only one animation layer and a 1000x1000 resolution.

Please let me know if you need any other detail to give a posible solution

Have read a bug report about animation crash in 5.2.0-beta1
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=472763
Is it also your case?
Do you have krita crash log?

I’ve noticed this, although not on the newest beta version, but the previous 5.1.5 version. When I press play on my Krita animation, it does the rebuffering and just closes with no warning. It did this LOADS when doing my latest one. I learned to save just before pressing play as it would likely crash. It did it a couple of times when I was using the transform tool to move something about aswell, just shut down. No warning. No error message. Nothing.
I got a PC especially to handle video editing and animation type stuff and I’ve done loads of stuff in Adobe with no bother at all.

im trying to make a crashlog, seeing if i can catch a crash to show here, since it is a random occurrence i will try to record with obs as well, so if i get it to occur once again i will upload it here. Saw you link, i seem to have the same problem

i think i do have the same problem, although im not sure how to compare if it is the exact smae process that gives that issue. The beta 5.2.0 animation code its said to be rewritten for improving so i dont know what to say to you.
I as well have a pc made to handel art, animation, video editing and 3d graphics, and i have no performance issue with other probgrams like clip studio, opentoonz, adobe animate and even blender

Great work on the new beta.
I love the start-up page.
1 small request can you make the news area smaller or can you make it that you can close it.
Keep up the good work.
Krita is the best. Thank you

Love this so far! Only problem is I can’t open any animation files, the program simply closes with no warning when I click on the file. I created a bug report:

Krita 5.2.0-beta 2 closes when trying to open animation file.
