Second Beta for Krita 5.2.0 Released - please help by testing and reporting bugs!

Even if it works, the crash on android is still there and the bug is yet to be fixed. Beta 2 remains unusable for samsung android users.

Looks like we will have to remain on 5.1.x series for a while

Optimization issues with the split-script interface. This interface seems to have been under-appreciated for a long time, and so far it’s not possible to drag panels via the middle mouse button.

Sub-shot script interface optimization. This interface seems to have been neglected for a long time, and it is still impossible to drag the panel with the middle mouse button.

Just wait for the next release. Apk signing seems had troubles in recent build, so they leave it unsigned, probably🤔.
You can check the progress here : Krita_Nightly_Android_arm64-v8a_Build [Jenkins]

Why can’t I get it on my Android tablet? I downloaded it but it said I couldn’t open it. So I downloaded the other Android files and it still said I couldn’t update krita with any of them. Please help me here.

Some postings, a few posts above, indicate a missing signature. That’s life in BETA status… …and I can’t say if they will fix it.

I got the windows version of 5.2 and it would frequently be unresponsive when tasked with basic commands like “CTRL+ spacebar” or “CTRL + click”. I would often have to slowly use these commands for them to actually work. I also got this new beta to test out the built-in ffmpeg, but the ffmpeg wasn’t there and I had to manually download it anyways. Sucks cause I was really looking forward to a better experience but I understand that its beta and with that comes many bugs. For now I’ll go back to the official version.

I love the new Blending Info for layers in the layer docker. Is it a known issue that the %-value for opacity is slow to update between the slider and the blending info?

When I change the opacity of a layer the blending info take a hot minute to update. But if I click on the layers list or outside the main window it updates immediately.

For me it never updates, unless I

  • click in the layer list (any interaction there)
  • hover over active layer
  • make a stroke - updates roughly 1.5 sec after, i.e. at the same time as preview docker

Undo/redo updates it too, but only if the stroke is included in the sequence. Any other interaction with the UI does not trigger the update as far as I can tell.

I might sound like a broken record at this point, but still I would like to urge people to report the bugs to bugs.kde.org and add 5.2 beta as the version. It is okay to discuss here, but adding it to the bug report website will make sure devs are aware and it won’t get burried due to the replies here.

I used to experience a recurrent crash when trying to save a document in the 1st beta.
But when I get the chance, I’ll test the second beta to see if the issue persists.

There is a bug but I don’t know if it is a Krita bug as such or if it is because of the Spanish translation, I had already commented on this a long time ago that the Spanish translation makes the brush preferences window huge and now it affects more to that window.

Possibly it happens with some other translation, if so then I would have to start using the program in English since at least the last time I reported this bug they told me that it was practically because of the translation and that they would send an email to the translation team but it seems that the translation team is not planning to make the changes I suggested either.

Krita 5.2 beta 2

Krita 5.1.5

yeah this is a issue with translation being too long. I’ll ask around in translation channel to see where to report this. meanwhile you can also try sending email to the spanish translation team, may be with better translation suggestion.

i noticed the status bar keeps showing up on start of krita despite having ticked off on the . i keep it off to clear up interface but keeps coming back everytime i open krita, it could be a bug? or is it just me? I have some plugins installed so that could be the cause

Well, thank you very much :grinning:, I sent an email to the translation team with the translation suggestions, I just hope they see it soon since the translation really does not only affect the interface level, but also does not make some parts very clear since they did the translation of very literal way.

Edit:

oh forget it, I give up…

Edit2:

I subscribed to the mailing list, my mail seems to have sent without problems now.
