I’m wondering if anyone has used sktchbook, the original Autodesk software. It has a color-blending brush that mimics the effect of oil painting. Each time you paint, the brush’s paint blends with the existing color on the canvas until you select a new color on the palette. It’s very comfortable to paint with, and the color blending is excellent. I’m not sure if anyone has been able to achieve this, but I’m just offering this as a suggestion to help you find another way.
I’ve downloaded this brush, and it’s quite effective. But I’m talking about a different type of brush. Each stroke changes in real time based on the canvas color. For example, if the right side of the canvas is black, the brush will also smear black onto the right side when it encounters black. The next stroke will also have black on the right side. The paint also depletes based on pressure. You can try the old free version to see the difference.
The Chinese version I used was called the Brush. I don’t know what happened later, maybe after updating the system, I manually changed the files related to the drawing tablet, and Sketchbook lost its pressure sensitivity. I stopped using it, but I still miss that brush.
I just opened it and tried it out. It has the effect of natural blending of synthetic paint and smudge in the brush properties. This version is different from the one I used before.
My software doesn’t have pressure sensitivity, so I don’t know the effect now, but I can still see that the brush of the synthetic paint is linked to the base color.
