So what is your most favorite, most used Krita Brush?

Mine is easily the Pencil-6 Quick Shade mostly because it’s the one that seems to be most like a real graphite or charcoal pencil to me.

That’s also one of my most used brushes. I’ve also been lately using brushes like Basic- 5 Size Opacity and the Basic 3- Flow, they’re really simple and get the job done.

That is my go-to brush as well.

Most of my drawing time is spent sketching and working on line-based roughs, so my most used brush is a pencil brush. I’m not using a standard preset, however, but a slightly tweaked h) Charcoal Pencil Large.

The main modification is making the size pressure sensitive, which results in a very flexible brush that can be used for a coarse rough (thick lines), light and thin construction lines, as well as the regular silhouette lines, after reducing the size a bit. This lets me use a single brush for the whole thumbnail to rough process. (I still need an eraser or undo, because otherwise it’s really slow to erase a textured brush).

Nice! I have a modified version of that brush as well in my favorites.

I had been trying to create a “brushy” brush forever and only recently discovered there was already one that did exactly what I was looking for:

f) Speedpainting Blocking Shape Textured

Absolutely love this brush at a bunch of different sizes–just enough randomness to give variety but still feels completely under control.

Rakurri Roughchalk almost exclusively. I’m wanting to try something else though.

Oh, Basic 5 Opacity is nice!

Oh nice. I’ve been using Block Brush Glazing from the Deevad bundle, which is very similar. My other main is Wet Modeling, also from the Deevad bundle.

I don’t have one, but a few I use a lot, including:

For Painting:

  • Rakurri Liquidbristle
  • Rakurri Konseptpastell
  • Rakurri Charred
  • Deevad Glazing Textured
  • Bristles Multistroke Texture (Concept Brushes)

For Drawing:

  • Concept MarkerRoundInk
  • Charcoal Pencil Medium
  • Muses 06 04 Texture 04 Rock Flat

Others:

  • Airbrush Real Grain
  • Concept PressInk Craggy
  • InkT Texture Cross Hatching
  • Rakurri Smoothgrit & Avtrykk Softer (Blender/Smudge)

I do often make modifications to the brushes though, like adding hue variation. Plus I have some brushes I put together myself I use quite often.

I’m going to have to check out that bundle–thanks for the recommendation!

For me Basic 5 and Blender Smear.

Mine is a basic circle brush [ i think its from deevads pencil without the texture and scatter or the basic 5 + some modification]

I call SoftFlow . Basically Basic 5, with slight softness pressure, Flow pressure, and S Curve taper but doesn’t come to a point.

I basically use this from sketching, lines, to shading and sometimes blending [even if its not a blender]

My previous fav is Dirty Blocker.

Nowadays for line its one of my Leaky Brushes.

Like I have a lot of bundles but most of the time I only use a handful.

It gotta be the RGBA Thickpaint 02 with lowered contrast of the lightness map. It has a very nice and subtle gouache look to it.
Being a severe brush hoarder tho it changes every week :^D

I’ve been recently falling in love again with pen and markers art.

The “Mypaint markers” and @RamonM ink bundle (especially the “flats” and “fudepen”) have been a constant on selection.

A few extra three custom brushes i use as markers

i’d really like to see which brushes you use for rendering and blending!

I always rely on David’s excellent brush pack :slightly_smiling_face:

As to which brush in particular, it depends on what part of the painting it is. Please watch the video in the blog, it gives ideas when to use each brush.
