Study from an AI image

I made this study from an AI generated image I found on Artstation this summer
I don’t appreciate the use of AI for concept designing, but I do like the lighting and the colors that it combines together

Visually impressive but something with the pose isn’t right. I think it’s how the arms go, especially her right arm coming from nowhere. I guess it was already wrong in the generated image.

yeah, in fact I tried to fix it, but then I decided to hide it with hair because it wasn’t easy to deal with that problem

It’s probably because she was supposed to be clinging to something. Her posture seems a bit awkward and that’s probably why her arm’s weird. But it is true that AI has great colors. Wonder where they stole it…

If only there were a way to find the original artist and then study them directly.

I would be cautious with this approach of study. As often Ai is not perfect and combined with your own imperfection this compounds in your artwork. I would also be cautious with these type of post since there is always a doubt whether you did the study or used the generated image itself.

Love the lighting and color. Especially the bright color outlining the dark shadows on her arms!

I would love AI as a tool to generate ideas and then do own thing. however, it seems you got inspired so much that you copied the flaws.

I think I agree with @raghukamath here, posting such art puts doubt in everyone’s mind.

If this is your real study then kudos.

sorry for my incomplete explanation, I wasn’t about to create any flame or trouble here. The image is made 100% by me with Krita, so I only used the Ai image as a reference. Anyways, I will avoid posting these kind of studies to avoid discussions online

No don’t worry I merely stated what would be assumed when you mention AI. So I am not accusing you of anything. I can’t prove anything anyway. I am merely stating the negative effects of stating you used AI as part of your workflow.

I was also highlighting how it would be bad to do study based on faulty AI artworks.

I’m sorry, here’s the image I used for the study. My goal was mostly to recreate the lighting. I noticed the mistake with the arm and tried to fix it as much as possible.

Ok, next times I will post my own drawings with my own flaws only :joy:

You could check out apps that have 3D mannequins that you can pose. That might help a bit in figuring out positions. It’s not 100% but better than nothing. One such app that I use is Magic Poser.

There’s a discussion about 3D mannequins here, with examples and links:

Ah! I knew she was supposed to cling to something! right under her left arm is a little line that you didn’t draw. It’s some sort of underwater step, the closest thing I could find is a “baja shelf”. But good thing you didn’t draw whatever the thing at her chin is?!

God, I hate AI “art” so much…Seeing that artstation post and profile made my blood boil, not gonna lie. Your own art is so much better @GioArtworks in my opinion, not this garbage.
