"The Resilence of Memory" [Pixel Art]

Hello folks, this is a Pixel Art I did some time ago. It was a bit “important” for me for different reasons.

First, I used it as playground to fully test my -super awesome- Pixel Art plugin for Krita (SZK Pixel Art Suite), to apply all its features and potential, and to “fine tuning” its usability, do adjustments, etc. until I feel is perfect.

Second, it was my first “““serious””” illustration after all the AI thing :poop:. I kinda felt demotivated to draw because of it, and this piece was an important reminder for me that human art will always be better than generic AI :poop: art.

Third and last, the message was kinda important for me. We are living in a kinda ““complicated”” world, and at some point I feel that we all need to create our own personal and positive inner world that kinda arises from all the negativity that surrounds us. So thats kinda the metaphor, the tree fighting to catch the last sunrays and being a “happy place” while the rest is kinda dead.

Also, I recently lost my best friend and dog, Dex, after 15 and half years. I wanted to capture the idea and feeling that he was able to fix literally any bad day and that just by being next to him, he turned my world into a more colourful one.

One thing I like about drawing is that when we put an idea into an image. I feel it helps to remember that idea/feeling.

I also did a little animation:

This is the first artwork I upload here, so I don’t know if I’m doing it correctly

ai? a random pixel generator calculated by literal switches ? not a single thought

see, the emotion, the reason, the story, life,…. are the things that make this ART

“You put a piece of yourself into the things you create”

“charming”

Thank you friend.

I agree. In my humble opinion, art without intention is kinda pointless, and AI lacks of that.

Even though, I’m kinda ““worried”” that more and more people could be discouraged for simply start painting, to learn to draw, etc., because for a lot of “uneducated” people when it comes to art, they kinda generate the murmur of “oh, AI does that better, you are silly for spending so much time in that when AI does it in 3 seconds”.

I also dislike that AI could shift the process of making art from “pleasure” or just expressing ourselves into some “production mentality”, where the process, story, emotion, etc. gets devaluated. I already see lots of people in social media using AI just for the mere thing of getting likes and attention, which is kinda sad.

Even though, I’m positive, “real” art will always persist.
