Essentially my requests is I just want the triangle color selector to look like this:
With dark and light being bottom and top, and saturation to the right side.
In my opinion it is a lot more intuitive in general and a lot more comfortable for both people who transition to Krita (as it’s pretty much the way color triangles are in a lot of other software) or people that start with Krita right away (as the default square selector already has that arrangement).
And yeah, I know about plugins, but script managing and plugin installing isn’t the most regular user friendliest thing.
I know that something that sounds trivial for lay people might be a lot more challenging on the dev side, but I would love to have that fucntionality be part of the core software without fiddling with scripts and plugins.
I believe this has already been asked in the feedback thread for the new wide gamut colour selector, which will eventually replace the advanced colour selector docker. Here is the thread - Feedback for “wide gamut color selector”
And as per the answer in that thread by @Lynx3d there is already an option to have dark bottom, saturation to right and lightness to top. just that currently it is in diamond shape, because it offers more area to select colour. But i think the shape can change.
You can try the wide gamut colour selector in the latest beta testing release or the nightlies and may be chime in the feedback thread for the colour selector.
@Dima_Derzhavin You might not realize that feature requests should only have one item.
Yours has two but that second one may never be noticed (by viewers and devs) and certainly it defeats the whole voting process as viewers only get one vote per thread.
If you want, you can edit your post to remove the second item and then create a second feature request.
Will download the 5.2 beta and test out that diamond shape. I haven’t used a diamond selector shape yet, but It has the potential to be even more useful than the regular triangle, actually.
Although the good ol’ triangle could still be a nice addition for people to land on something familiar first.
